Dr. David Andrew Klima, MD

Dr. Klima now practices in Boise ID at St Luke's. About a month ago he performed a "pull - through" surgery to remove part of my son's lower intestine after a biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease. My son was 4 weeks old at the time and has Down Syndrome. I gave Dr. Klima this rating because of the following reasons: - he was current on recent literature regarding TERPT techniques - he was very transparent with his information. We asked many questions, such as how many times had he performed this surgery (~20 times, observing, assisting or performing), what technique would he use to reconnect the intestine (modified Suave with laparoscopy) - he worked well with other surgeons, seeking confirmation and advice from those with more experience - very good "bedside manner" - he performed a perfect circumcision at the same time, to reduce the amount of stress on my son - weeks after the surgery he continued to answer our questions and provide excellent care
