Dr. David Peter Libell, MD

If your condition isn’t a textbook case. He gets upset when you ask a question because he doesn’t know how to answer. Instead of saying “ I don’t know or I’ll have to look into it more”. He seems irate because your test results or condition is different then what he expected!

My review is late getting posted, but I had a Bad experience. Dr Libell is a Joke and I DO NOT recommend him! After some rather painful nerve testing, there were no results found. They jabbed a needle in many places including in my shin, and worked it around like a gaming joystick to the point that my leg was bleeding which left several places on the protective paper on the bed. After reading the results from my tests, he called my primary doctor and gave her misdiagnosed information that I had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) which very much upset my doctor. Dr Libell informed me of the mistake he had made and I proceeded to tell him how emotional my doctor became during my follow up appointment and she asked me if she could pray for me. I didnt know what he had told her at this point, but I could tell it was pretty bad news! He then explained to me it was a terrible mistake and he was going to have to contact her and sincerely apologize. I've never heard another word from him or his staff… and they've Never told me what the problem is I'm dealing with. The only thing these doctors are worried about is getting our Money, most of them don't care about their patients. I don't doctor much, and this is the reason why! It's hard to find a Real one. After seeing all of the bad reviews, I'm surprised Doc Libell is still practicing/faking. PLEASE search for another doctor!

Both a family member and I have had terrible experiences with this doctor for our chronic conditions. He referred to me, a wheelchair user, as "the wheelchair" when speaking to a nurse, which is incredibly ableist. He gave both my relative and me medical advice which goes against the medical communities' recommendations and belittled our intelligence when we questioned his advice.

Everything he told me about my condition was inaccurate and disproved by the very sources he cited. On top of that he was very rude and uncaring.

Our experience with Dr. Libell was in his mode as a teaching doctor at WVU with a gaggle of students in tow. He was short in temperament, interrupted family members before they could even finish asking questions and displayed a level of arrogance I've not seen from a doctor in a long time. If he is teaching the "dont's" of bedside manner, he is an expert. Otherwise, he is an arrogant upstart young neurologist and I am sure WVU has better options available. I'd keep looking. This one needs to go back to learn some basic manners and human behavior skills.
