Dr. David Cary Matthews, MD

Dr. Matthews performed my craniosynostosis surgery back in 1984 and then my brothers five years later with the assistance of Dr. McClanahan. My mother says she would not have picked any other doctor after choosing him for our surgeries. She said he's very professional and very compassionate towards his patients and he's very knowledgeable with the medical procedures and honest with his patients on what's going to happen and what the outcomes could look like.

Dr. Matthews is a wonderful plastic surgeon. He took care of me when I needed surgery on my face after a bad fall. He is also helping me with my breast plastic surgery. He is very kind and a great surgeon.

Our experience with Dr. Matthews began in 2003 . I had just adopted my 18 month old daughter that was born with a cleft lip . I took her to Dr. Matthews and we began a very long process of reconstruction. Little did I realize that it would take years to correct all that needed to be done. Dr. Matthews treated my child with so much care and patience. Even when my child showed signs of post trauma , he went out of his way to calm her down before he continued removing stitches. I’m not talking about a few minutes but more like an hour or more. He also helped ease my anxiety during this time by explaining what he thought had triggered this. My daughter,Maggie is very pleased with the results of all these surgeries.

Our first experience was almost 10 years ago at the CRS clinic in SC. After another doctor recommended a more invasive surgery we contacted Dr Matthews office. He agreed further surgery was necessary but not the one recommended in SC. Although he is not participating in the SC clinics any longer he agreed to continue treating my grandson. While repairing his palate, he did some elective work on his ears. The bandages were removed yesterday and we could not be more pleased. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. We love this doctor.

He is the worst doctor ever see at the ward ever see he did surgery to my son he has Cliff lips and he is messed up my sons life now my son he has brain injury because this doctor he doesn't do good job

I was born with cleft lip and palate, Dr. Matthews and his team took exceptionally good care of me before, during and after each of my surgeries every year. I had the privilege of having a wonderful doctor. Couldn't be happier.

Wonderful & patient

Dr. Matthews treated my son and he is an exceptional doctor. He is extremely courteous and has excellent bedside manners. He respected my son as the patient and included him in discussions regarding his treatment. His knowledge and surgical skills are exceptional as well. Lastly the wait times may be long at times if he is busy, however when it was our time to see the doctor he spent a considerable amount of time with us, addressing all questions, concerns, etc. so I never had an issue with waiting.

Dr. Matthews is an awesome doctor. He has performed many surgeries to provide a nose form my daughter.
