I had a fantastic experience with Dr McKay. I found him to be a very thorough doctor with a kind personality.

I have suffered from a chronic illness for over 25 years and have seen countless primary care and speciality physicians. Dr. McCay is by far the best primary care doctor I have ever had. He coordinated with your other caregivers, walks you through procedures, references current research, and explains things thoroughly.

I have a lot of complicated conditions and Dr. McCay is the first doctor in a long time that makes me feel like we are working together and he isn't just telling me what to do. He really listens without judgement and explains things really well.

If you want a physician that thinks the computer is the patient, doesn't much seem to like people, and doesn't want to touch a patient, then McCay is the doctor for you. Doesn't return calls, doesn't seem to much care. Office staff are okay, but typical with Floyd Memorial physician offices, no one really seems to be in charge of the hired help.

This doctor has been great in finding out what's wrong with my physical health. I had a family doctor for around twenty years and never told me that my lungs were damaged , about my heart blockage or my having a blood cancer like polycythemia. I would recommend him if your family doctor isn't looking at your health as a whole to find your ailments. He's one of the most respectful, informative, caring , and compassionate doctors I've had in several years. Give this doctor a call and find out for yourself what he can help your with concerning your health.

Do not waste your time seeing Dr. Mccay if you are a female and struggle with your weight. Both him and another provider in the office left me to suffer with an undiagnosed thyroid disorder until I could get in with a specialist which would have added another 2 months of suffering and weight gain. Thank goodness I found a new Dr who quickly recognized the signs and ordered the remaining blood work I needed to confirm that I have Hashimotos. It meant nothing to him or the nurse practitioner that I was suffering and now have packed on over twenty pounds and my life nearly feel apart.
