I was a patient of dr McDowell’s for many years before he passed away. He gave me all the important things that an intact family should have given me. He respected me. He cared about my life, my feelings, my opinions, my development & my future. He cared for me & loved me. I felt it & I never felt that before. My family exploited me. It was always all about them. They were cruel to me. They never knew how to care about me or love me. I will always be grateful to dr. McDowell for showing me the truth. For showing me what relationships could really be like. Once u know that, there is no going back to pain, abuse, neglect & confusion. I was set free. It’s a grave loss the loss of such a kind, intelligent & loving man. Dr.McDowell I hope I see u again when I cross over to the other side & I sincerely hope u r at peace & surrounded by all the things u love, art, books, photos of your loved ones, music, cooking, film everything u shared with me. All the knowledge, love & hope. I love u… sincerely as your friend & your patient! D.E.

This man was a notorious homosexual and a hopeless and degenerate drug addict. He was utterly dishonest and an a total shame and a disgrace to mankind.

I have never met a more awful, dishonest and disgusting person. Now that he is dead the public is safe from this creep, shyster and quack. I hope he will have to answer for what he did in his so-called life.

He is one of the worst doctors I ever met. His only goal is to make money. He will do anything for money.

Informal. Friendly. Good sense of humor. Intellectually sharp as a razor. Very interactive sessions. Listens closely. Gives incredibly helpful advice. Wish I found him twenty years ago. He's a better psychiatrist than all the other psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists I've seen (over forty years) rolled into one. An excellent psych and a great guy.
