Dr. David Leroy Mclaren, MD

I have had Dr.McLaren for over 20 years. He got my siezures to stop and keep it that way..Some times it takes a little bit at his office and sometimes it doesn't, just like any other doctor. He dose test when there needed.

Our son was referred or dr McLaren who was touted as a Neurologist who handles difficult epilepsy cases. Dr McLaren was no help. He only prescribed different cocktail of meds and was not very informative. His method of encouragement was telling our college grad that "you could be a landscaper".

My husband and I both see Dr. Mclaren, He has always been pleasant and courteous. He listened to what we said, asked further questions, ordered the appropriate testing, and didn't hesitate to send me to another specialist for further testing and diagnosis. I don't believe he has ever rushed my husband or me out, he has always been attentive. I would certainly recommend Dr Mclaren to anyone needing his expert specialty. His nurses and staff have always been helpful and friendly.

I was "assigned" to Dr. McLaren when admitted to Boone Hospital Center. I was met with indifference and an "I don't care" attitude. He couldn't figure what was wrong with me, and instead of getting the help of someone who could, he said "I don't know what's wrong with you, not my problem. I'm checking you out." This all said, back to me, with a shrug as he walked out the door. If I was physically capable, I believe I would've come across there at him! Unbelievable! I do not understand why any primary would think it's wise to refer their patients to this man.

He takes you money and runs. Doesnt diagnose the problem and could care a less about you

My daughter was a patient of Dr McLaren, although she never got to see him,time and time again she was seen by the nurse practioner and her complaints were ignored. finally after having several siezures I called them, they called me back 6 hours later. This is the norm for them.She has since found a specialist at Barnes and we are amazed at the difference in treatment. I am extremely angry with the way they treated my daughter. I found a specialist for my daughter in St Louis.

It took over 1 hour to see the doctor and over a month to get the appointment. His bedside manner was like this. My wife and I could hear him talking to the nurse in the hall. He said "One more and we are out of here. Let's move through this one." That is what he did. Need I say any more?

Poor bed side manner, very difficult staff. does not take adequate time with patient. does not explain things in detail. only prefers to give the patient orders. Run run away fast

I have not had a very good experience with this doctor. It may be just me, but I would rate him as 'moderate'. He definitely is an intelligent doctor, but I am not pleased with him because of contradictory comments made by him.
