Dr. David Lang Mcneil, MD

just now Dr. McNeil seemed nice enough for the first few telehealth visits we had. Later, he thought it was wise to accuse me of not taking a medication he had prescribed that I had to discontinue due to side effects. He tried to pressure me into doing video visits even though my insurance covers telephone visits & I had explained that I didn't want to use the video option. He wrote prescriptions for the medications that I take and have been on for years (and work well) but decided to end the call by saying it was, "suspiciously simple." I switched to the Nurse Practitioner Christine Abt and was told our first visit would be through video. She called me instead, which was fine. But then today, she wanted me to join a virtual visit on my phone & I was unable and explained to her the reasoning. She refused to write refills for my prescriptions over the phone, stating, "it's no way to conduct business during Covid-19." That's funny, then how come the entire time I was a patient of this… practice (each visit happened during the ongoing pandemic) was it not a problem until today?

I have been reading some reviews that how Dr. McNeil is sometimes late for an appointment, which is true. Think about it though. They schedule people for a certain amount of time to see him, but he works with people that have mental illness. What if they are having a really hard time and they need their medications adjusted. Would you want your doctor to be in the middle of adjusting your medications to make you feel better and all of a sudden say ok your times up for today. We will have to stop here and have to adjust the rest next month. Hope you don’t do nothing to drastic this month since we did not finish. No you would not! And no Dr. McNeil would not want that ether , so YES PEOPLE DR. MCNEIL IS SOMETIMES LATE FOR APPOINTMENTS, but trust me. He will take the time with you if you need it to. As for being mean, NO DR MCNEIL IS NOT. DR MCNEIL IS A DOCTOR THAT TELLS IT LIKE IT IS. THAT IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT HIM. He is the first doctor I’ve had that just does not push tones of… medications down me just to try to fix me. DR MCNEIL IS THE BEST DOCTOR IVE HAD SINCE IVE BEEN DIAGNOSED IN 2003. NOW ITS 2020, AND IM MORE STABLE NOW THAN EVER THANKS TO DR. MCNEIL!!!

Really care about you and your health. Great staff!

This man is a danger and has caused psychological harm to many patients, particularly young patients. Hes very insensitive, bad tempered, scary, and abrasive.

Dr. McNeil is the doctor to whom I was referred when my previous psychiatrist moved their practice to New Zealand. He listens well, asks intelligent questions and is a very decent human being. I like him. I’m comfortable with him. He has no illusions that his medical degree makes him all knowing.

Both Dr. McNeill and Dr. Abt met with me to help me gain insight into my concerns. It really shows the interest and care in a patient they have only known for a few months.

His office was in a big scary building. People weren't friendly. When I went into his office, within 2 minutes, his behavior and way he spoke made me so uncomfortable and scared. I told him I would like to end, and go home. He roughly threw aside his paper pad and pen and slammed both his hands together on the desk, which startled me and I was terrified. I began trying to speak and defend myself and he talked over me and yelled over me. He traumatized me in his office. It was a nightmarish experience. He is a danger to patients and everyone.

Dr. McNeil gets results. He takes the time and puts forth the effort needed to insure I am doing my best. He listens and suggests changes in my medication and explains why he is considering them. He views our relationship as a partnership: if I answer his questions he will thoughtfully make recommendations. He takes the time needed to answer my questions. Sometimes he writes down instructions for taking the medicines he prescribes for example to make it easier to transition from med to another. Once he wrote a prescription that just said "Really?". It was about a private joke we shared and I keep it taped to my refrigerator to remind myself to give others the benefit of the doubt.

I have been going to Dr. McNeil for 5 years. He takes his time and listens. The patient is given choices. He is sensitive to religious issues and he is available by email for followup questions.

I've been seeing Dr McNeil for some time now, and it has been a very helpful venture. Visits to this 'type' of doctor can be extemely daunting, at first, but from day one, he put me at ease. He listens, he's helplful and will try many methods that are -out of the box- to help you become the person you want to be. He is very learned in todays medications--if that's what you might need. I feel that he's my friend, as well as my doctor, --andI can tell him anything. That, in itself- is remarkably relieving. He has a very warm way about him and I would highly recommend him to others. He's a rare find.
