He is a 1955 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He performed his internship at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1956. Dr. Minichan completed surgical residencies at Jefferson Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia; the University of Virginia Department of Surgery; and Andrews Air Force Base Hospital. Dr. Minichan is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
