Dr. David Larry Mitchell, MD

Dr. Dave is an excellent, thorough, and caring physician. He saw me in the hospital at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s, even on the weekend. He found my resistant UTI and treated my sepsis. He and the nurses saved my life. You know you see a good doctor, when the nurses see him for their care. I am glad my family and I have Dr. Dave to manage our medical needs in the office and hospital settings.

Forget for a second that you can't understand a word Dr. Mitchell says as he can't get the conversation over quick enough (even offers answers to his questions for you before you can respond), like many doctors, Mitchell seems to be foused on getting as many payments in his bank account as possible. After being tired of unnessary appointments every 5 months to get a simple prescription refilled (my insurance only covers 1 doctor visit a year), and after promising to let me see him every 6 months, he kept insisting on 5 months, so I would need 3 visits every year. When we finally made the choice (my wife also disliked going there for his inability to speak clearly), he actually called Walgreens and had them cancell 3 months of refills. What a vindictive A**. If you like communication, and prefer avoiding unnecessary appointments to pad bank accounts, choose someone else.

I love Dr Dave. He is the ultimate 'common sense' doctor. He will save you time and money and cut right to the chase. I cannot say enough positive things about him.

Dr. Dave is a great doctor. I just moved to Illinois and needed my thyroid meds refilled. The urgent care wouldnâ??t do it and recommended Dr. David Mitchell. He saw me the next day, ordered labs, and adjusted my medication. I tried to pay my copay, but he worked with me to get a free physical that required no copay. Dr. David Mitchell is an outstanding physician. I was new to the area and had gone to an advertising doctor, who had the slogan â??you will know a good doctor when you see one.â?? I had gone to this new doctor prior to seeing Dr. David Mitchell for 6 months without resolution of my knee pain. I switched to Dr. Dave, who ordered an MRI and diagnosed a meniscus tear. With a referral for outpatient ortho surgery and physical therapy, Dr. David Mitchell has made my knee pain free. Dr. Dave is an asset to the area, and I switched my entire family to him.

Dr. Dave is the best Shiloh doctor in the area. As a nurse I had worked closely with him and knew how he cared for his patients. He saved my dadâ??s life in the hospital, and he found my thyroid cancer. He was able to lookup labs and ultrasound results at both local hospitals. He even saw me on the weekend rounds. Anytime I have ever needed an appointment, I have been able to get into the office within 24 hours. I am glad I switched to The Country Doctor. He can be trusted and is knowledgeable.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Mitchell! He is a rare find... a doctor that truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to take care of their needs! Get in whIle he's still accepting new patients, you will not find another doctor like him anytime soon!
