Dr. David Carleton Olson, MD

I had a small - and questionable in terms of necessary - procedure during my annual visit that Dr Olson claimed he did not know the cost. I said well I hope it's not more than $300, as it doesn't sound necessary. He claimed (being in the field for 32 years) that he did not know the cost. It was $2100 and I never even got notified of the results.

The nurse was rude and condescending. I have never been uncomfortable at a gyn appointment before, but Dr Olsen pulled me down the table instead of asking me to slide down, then the nurse watched the procedure. I have been a long-term patient at Brigham and Women's in Boston and have been very satisfied with the care I have received there. I will take the very long drive in the future to avoid the Foxborough office.

I have nothing but nice things to say about this doctor and office at BWH. Dr. Olson took the time to review all the information about my first pregnancy. He was very knowledge and took the time to listen to my concerns. He offered helpful information as well. The office staff is wonderful too. They are very organized as a practice.

My first pregnancy and I just have great comments about Dr. Olson, he listened to me, he reassured baby and mother were doing OK, thanks to him my delivery was wonderful, as a textbook, he said!I'll never forget this experience and the nurse Julie from Portugal, she was great, I'm thankful!

My baby girl almost died because of this doctor's poor and careless judgment. I thought my water broke, had regular contractions and was GBS positive. He sent me home from the hospital 4 cm dilated, 100 % effaced saying that "even if I arrived at the hospital 1 hr before my daughter was born, she would be fine". Not true. I went back to the hospital 2 days later and my baby was born with sepsis, pneumonia and meningitis after a 10 hour labor. The NICU said to us they were not even sure our full term baby would make it. I think my water had broken the day I went in. I suspect that someone without a medical degree would have used better sense than to send me home and risk my life as well as my baby's.
