In general the Doctors at Gifford have been courteous, and knowledgeable. Dr Pattison, however is abrasive, insecure, and self righteous.He made a mediocre first impression, and later, after being asked a very simple question he didn't know the answer to, his response, "I don't have time to explain that to you, and I'm not discussing this again."The simple answer he "didn't have time to explain" was "Yes." ..that there is a fan circulating air in the little baby box thing.By responding the way he did, he caused a situation where a sleep deprived mother who's baby had almost died was panicking that her child who was having difficulty breathing was being put into a box to possibly suffocate.Even a simple "I'm not sure how it works, but feel free to take a look" would have been useful. It took dad about 30 seconds to figure out where the ventilation was once he got a chance to look. Unfortunately this was only after a pretty ugly scene that could have easily been avoided.....not… looking forward to dealing with him tomorrow.

I have found David Pattison to be an excellent primary care doctor. He takes time to listen, to ask questions, explains what he is doing and has made excellent recommendations for specialists in other fields after he has determined what is needed. He always follows up after an appointment to see how things are going. It's easy to discuss issues with him and never seems in a rush to move on to another appointment.

No examination, just prescribed Valium after entering and seeing me on my side in pain. Thought I was over reacting. Ultimately diagnosed by another doctor- sixth cranial nerve palsy.

Poor judgment and poor analytical skills - inappropriate recommendations based on his insufficient knowledge.

If you hear hoofbeats and always think horses, sometimes you might get run over by a heard of buffalo. Its bad news for the patient when the diagnosis is off the cuff based on averages, not on examination or test reults.
