No medical discussion, as my visit was just to provide a blood test

I hate going to any doctor. Knowing surgery was probable, made this visit even worse. However, Dr. Pfeffer quickly eased my mind. He answered all my questions. He showed me my x-rays and explained everything in detail. His witty sense of humor helped to calm my nervousness. On the day of the surgery, he went through the entire process again for my husband’s benefit. I’m relieved I was referred to such an excellent doctor!

Great experiences, he doesn't cut corners.

The most horrible experience of our lives. Don't even know where to start, so many things went wrong. I will try to put them in bullet format and in order.... #1 -After scheduling a month out, to work around our schedules, he called 2 days before procedure to inform us that HE screwed up, didn't understand the new system (been practicing for 20 yrs) and was getting married in 3 days, which seemed to be his main focus, but we will need to rearrange our schedules to accommodate his nuptials and system screw up. No apology and I should mention that he did offer to keep the original date, but my wife would have to get a tube inserted 48 hrs before and sit around in discomfort and pain, until the procedure, what a guy. #2 - After rescheduling to a later date to avoid my wife enduring that 48 hrs of pain, we arrived early morning for the tube insertion and then the procedure. Two hours later, I meet w Pfeffer and he informs me that the tube was not inserted properly, which would not allow… him to get a majority of the stones and that the tube also, yes also, lacerated her kidney, so there was a lot of blood and a vast amount of stones left. Mind you he was not there for tube insertion, didn't care to be. #3 - Since procedure did not go well and left my wife in a lot of pain (and I know this because my wife is a beast when it comes to pain, after all, she had both of our children at home) and she was left immobile. Suppose to leave the next day. #4 - She then developed blood clots in lungs, same risk to legs and got pneumonia, while still in pain and immobile. He stopped by on rounds and told her to just GET UP, you need to leave. At which point the nurses all rallied around to let him know just how bad off she is, he didn't care because he came by everyday to tell her to just GET UP. There is so much more to say, but after 7 days of outpatient (haha) she is home and we hope to NEVER see that quack of a doctor again. Stay away, he is mean, rude, insensitive and not good at what he does, if you ever need surgery, STAY CLEAR, he is dangerous and needs to RETIRE NOW. YOU SUCK Dr. Pfeffer, I wish there was a negative star section

While I agree Dr. Pfeffer may need to work on his bedside manner, he does know his stuff. I would rather have a doctor that knows his stuff then one that is all lovey dovey. I do believe he does care about his patients and would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Pfeffer's manner is cold and insulting. He seems to have neither time nor empathy with his patients. Won't look you in the eye. His staff seems a reflection of their employer: irritable, harried, impatient. PA Samantha Reynolds is the office's only saving grace. Also attempted to bill insurer for procedures not performed. Low performance and low ethics. Pick another practice.

My wife and I have both been treated by Dr. Pfeffer. My previous urologist couldn't diagnosis my condition after three years. i went to Dr. Pfeffer and he immediately diagnosed the problem.My wife had a similar experience.We are big fans of his. Excellent physician.

He and 90% of the office staff have horrible attitudes!Had a horrible experience with a surgical procedure as well.
