Dr. David Michael Shore, MD

I am a kidney cancer survivor of 13 years!. Dr. Shore did my surgery which took about 10 hours. I bled out several times on the table and also my heart stopped, but he was able to save my life and half of the affected kidney so that I have one and a half kidneys now he is very personable and passionate about what he does. He befriended my husband during this long struggle of me being in intensive care for many many days. I am grateful that I was referred to him because at the time I was morbidly obese, and two other urologists said they would not do the surgery, but he did and it was successful. He is a most accomplished surgeon, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs this kind of doctor. I owe my quality of life to Dr. Shore and have lost more than 125 pounds!

My doctor referred me to a urologist. I saw good online reviews for Dr. Shore. I met with him, he looked at my doctors notes , we talked. There was no exam. He gave me a free sample prescription he had received from a pharmaceutical company. I took the pills until I ran out. The symptoms didn’t change. I called his office and was told he would call me back. I waited a week. No response. I called back and was again told he would call me. No response. Waited about another 10 days. Called back. Told he would return the call. Never called back I saw another urologist. He actually did an exam. Had different recommendations. Within a week problem start to go away. My sense is that Dr. Shore spends as little time as possible with patients so that he can maximize profits. I went back and looked at the positive reviews I had seen. I discovered that those website reviews are by invitation only , meaning the doctor´s office controls which reviews get published

Based on a slightly elevated PSA test and NOTHING MORE he told me to have a TURP procedure. No cytoscopy, no testing of any kind. He rejected any talk of less invasive alternatives and did not mention any of the risks involved in a TURP.

The staff at this office appears unhappy, as they are often abrupt, ESPECIALLY on the phone. It is a MAJOR ORDEAL TO REQUEST A CALL BACK! They are obviously too big, and self important . I previously worked with Dr Michael Young until he retired. He was NEVER too busy for my calls or concerns. Now, they act as though they are doing you a FAVOR. Due to a few very bad recent experiences, I have switched providers, and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE . BEWARE!

In every way, Dr. Shore made sure I was comfortable during any procedures -- and that I was comfortable in understanding my prognosis. I've never before had a doctor who really took the time to insure that all my questions were answered. That makes all the difference when dealing with serious issues.

I saw Dr. Shore for a cyst I have on my uterer. I didn't feel confident with his assessment. So he told me he can go in with a camera and look into my bladder and take a look at the cyst to see if it was cancerous. I told him that I was previously diagnosed with Interstatial cystitis. He told he doubts I have it and that he's positive I was misdiagnosed. So I agreed to allow him to do the scope. I told him I was having another procedure done if he can do it then. He said yes. He even said he can do it on a Monday or Wednesday. A date made by his assistant Lori was made. He not once talked with my other doctor. It was always his assistant. After the date was made, I made arrangements for both procedures. My other surgery is going to be a hysterectomy. My husband requested the time off to take care of me. The operating was booked. The one thing that went wrong was the fact thatDr. Shore did not communicate with the other doctors involved and his assistant Lori after everything had… been booked. Realized three days later that the doctor had a previous surgery. I find it very unprofessional. I wanted to speak to the doctor and she said the doctor said for me to find a new urologist. I would never recommend him. As a matter of fact I'm going to talk to the hospital or whomever is in charge of the practice. I think he as upset that I didn't go see his wife for a procedure I'm having that is a doctor as well.
