Dr. David Tetsu Terasaka, MD

The staff is nice, but totally unprofessional and treat me like a behavioral new mother, dismissing my concerns to my over worrying. felt not taken care of. Brought my baby with a rash, doctor barely looked and waved it off saying it's baby acne, which even me without any medical background knew it didn't look like. No recommendations to revise my diet for allergens, nothing. Had to research this on my own, stopped eating dairy and my son's skin started to clear. Also, we were never told to start vitamin D from birth, only on 2 months visit, even though they know my son has been in the NICU for 2 weeks without eating and needs extra care in the nutrients department. The doctor attending kept forgetting that. Looking for another practice.

My 11 yo twins have been going to Terasaka since they were born and it makes me sad to read these negative reviews. Since people are more inclined to write a review when they have had a negative experience (or so it seems) I thought I would take the time to write my positive experience. I have always found the staff to be friendly and attentive. They have taken my concerns seriously. I have always been able to get an appointment within a reasonable time frame, and in fact once called at 4:30 and had my son seen at 4:45. He is a little goofy (no pun intended since the office is Disney themed) but my kids think its funny. I have never questioned his medical treatment or diagnosis and in fact have felt he has talked me down I when I was worried about things. (I am a nurse myself so its easy to self diagnose something extreme) I have had no regrets on choosing this office.

We have been going to Wee Care and Dr. T since our little one was born, and have always had a great visit... right up until we didn't. After having had our little one in the hospital at 4 years old complaining of having to pee all the time, I was told that it was entirely behavioral, and "not normal." No support, no suggestions on what to do, not even a backup urine test to ensure there wasn't anything more going on. I left in tears, forced to choose who to believe - my child or our doctor. We went back to ask more questions, but Dr. T hid in a back room and wouldn't even come out to see us. The head nurse was very kind, and suggested Motrin would be a good anti-inflammatory if there really was anything going on, and not hurt if there wasn't. Lo and behold, three days later the "behavior" disappeared as quickly as it had come on. Not saying a 4 year old can't have some behavioral stuff going on, but looking back I feel that oversight and lack of support are the BEST things I can say… about the experience. Thank goodness this wasn't something more severe, such as some of the other stories I've now seen from other parents. We are finding a new pediatrician. It's a shame that the very nice and helpful staff, nurses and the Christian atmosphere are wasted with such poor treatment of child and parents.

Doctor is a bit bizarre. He dresses in Disney costumes while tending to patients. He made my fourteen year old very uncomfortable. Office staff is horrible with no manners!!!

Dr.Terasaka almost let my daughter die when she was 11 months old. If we didn't get a second opinion from a better pediatrician, she wouldn't be alive today. She was directly admitted to the hospital the same night we sought the second opinion. This was after days of taking her to see Wee Care providers without them so much as checking blood or urine for infections, with her temperature consistently above 103. Virus Virus Virus. This practice should be shut down. I've heard of three children now that Dr. Terasaka has personally and brutally misdiagnosed. Please beware before you see this "doctor".

Beware if your a breastfeeding mom. This guy is a total whack job. He recommended supplementing my daughter with formula when it was not medically necessary. My daughter had a terrible reaction to the formula and was sick from it, went back again for another visit for an eye problem, he stood across the room and said " yeah, she has a blocked tear duct" never came near her, never touched her. Never once in three visits did a complete physical exam. Final straw was when he told me to limit my daughter time nursing, that she was just using me as a binky.. I would not take my dog to him. The staff was great, he was horrible.

My kids (6 and 2) have been to Dr. Terasaka since they were infants. I've had no complaints, and believe that they are treated well. His humor is excellent when dealing with a nervous kid, and it really puts them at ease. Keep up the great work!

Despite our concerns that our child had a bone problem, we were told it was fine. After seeing a specialist, it was confirmed pediatrician misdiagnosed problem and we needed ongoing treatment. Nurse practioners were great though.
