Dr. David Joseph Turk, MD

Dr. David Turk has been my endocrinologist for over 20 years. He has helped me manage my diabetes, and when my pituitary failed in 2003, he saved me. I walked a half-marathon and ten days later suddenly could not stand up. Dr. Turk parsed my symptoms against those being worked up by my neurologist, cardiologist, and gastroenterologist. The diagnostic challenge was a real head-scratcher. I believe his expertise, doggedness, and hours spent going over my history, symptoms, labs, and other findings resulted in my survival. His follow-up has made me feel safe. Dr. Turk has always been kind, smart, funny, helpful, and I recommend him without reservation.

Refuses to listen or give any consideration to patient or patients symptoms. Only cares about the numbers even when the proof of symptoms say otherwise.

Does not listen to patients body all about hitting target ranges.

I've been seeing Dr. Turk for several years for a pituitary issue and I've never felt rushed or have him unwilling to discuss questions I've had about my medical issues, treatment options, etc. I've had to wait at times but I think that not unexpected given all the variations that can happen with patients' and their appointments during the day.

Pompous and distracted. Didn't feel he really cared about me as a patient.

I've been seeing Dr. Turk for 5 yrs for a thyroid problem, and he is consistently patient, caring, and thorough. I've never felt as if the appointment is rushed -- Dr. Turk spends as much time as necessary to make sure all my questions are answered. Sometimes it's a little difficult to get an appointment, but I've learned just to start scheduling earlier.

Dr. Turk was thorough, methodical, warm, congenial, truthful, gave me choices after giving me information. Helped me develop a plan. All of which I appreciate.I cannot comment on followup because I am in process of diagnostic testing and those results will determine future plan. Your system will not allow me to check the fourth star. That is misleading... wonder why that is??

I've had many diabetic endocrinologist doctors over the years and I'm very please with Dr. Turk. He helps to manage my diabetes very well and has always been great with getting me to improve. He always spends enough time with me and I never feel rushed during an appointment.
