Dr. David E. Valentine, MD

Dr. Valentine is the best. My mom has been his patient for over 25 years. My whole family now goes to him. Dr. Valentine is a trustworthy, attentive, patient, caring, and he takes his time with you. He's the type of Dr. that cares about you as a person and your health and won't push medication on you. Dr. Valentine is also prompt in returning phone call and responding through the NYU Portal App. He is the epitome of doctors.

Dr Valentine is always attentive, courteous and considerate. Best of all, he really knows medicine and cares enough to diagnose and treat accurately. I wish all doctors in New York were like Dr David Valentine.

Dr Valentine (my doctor for 20 years) is sympathetic, efficient, thoughtful, thorough, polite, well-trained, and very caring. He listens carefully and respects your opinions and concerns. He's also very smart. Unfortunately, because he listens carefully and takes time with each patient, the wait to see him is often LONG. Also unfortunate is that Dr. Valentine is in a Langone ambulatory care medical group that is housed in a really awful - AWFUL - old building. Maybe because of the awful surroundings, the office staff are unsmiling and uncaring. If Dr. Valentine weren't so wonderful, I wouldn't go near that building (especially the elevators).

I chose him as a PC and all was well until I suffered a slip/fall. I must say that I was surprised and disappointed that he did not step up to the plate. He did not address my issues as a whole person. Each injury was a separate visit (and a separate co-pay). I believe that the lapse of time caused other injuries to worsen due to neglect. I injured my wrists, shoulder and legs in a fall and to date he has addressed my wrists only. My gait is off now and through the emergency room I secured physical therapy for a torn shoulder cuff. He continually stated that "it's not his fault ..." and that "at my age" I should be more careful. He even implied that there may be "issues at home or at work" causing my pain! My first experience with a "doctor" using the title loosely like him and God willing my last.

the follow up could be better. It is literally none existent. they could read the emails and when they say they're going to call you back they don't call back

Dr Valentine is a great doctor. I knew I had to find a new and good primary care doctor as it had been years since I had a full check-up. After my first visit with him, I knew he was someone I could trust with my health concerns. He took a complete medical history and made me feel comfortable right away. The appt was not rushed and he has EXCELLENT bedside manner. He completed a physical exam and not once did I feel uncomfortable. He takes the time to ask questions and listens to your responses. No question is dumb for him, in fact I think he likes for you to ask questions so that he knows you fully understand what he is saying. Getting a refill for a prescription has been rather easy, appointments are easy to schedule. His answering service is great too. I actually got him on the phone on a Friday night! He has provided great referrals and I can't say anything negative about my experience. I hope he doesn't leave the practice as I have found a great doctor!

Dr. Valentine is a great doctor. He is very professional, and takes the time to explain everything until you understand. He doesn't rush through the appt but is also very conscious of the time he is spending with you. He makes it easy to discuss the awkard topics and he helps to look at the bigger picture. He has provided great referrals and stays in touch as needed. He was excellent beside manner and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you meet him. I trust his decisions and expertise. I would defintely recommend him.

He was very thorough and gentle. Asked good questions. Made the awkward questions/topics less awkward. He made sure I thoroughly understood my test results and shouldn't be nervous about asking questions. He was with me promptly and used time efficiently without making me feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient. I will definitely be going back to him!
