DR WIMBERLY is HORRIBLE! I have gone to the clinic for 8 Dr. Appointments; Multiple tests; and 2 sets of shots in my back (L3 4, 5) in the past 5 MONTHS. I was billed to see a Spine Surgeon, but only saw him twice. I met with his PA the rest of the visits and when I asked him when I would meet Dr Wimberly, he said only when it’s time for surgery. I know now why he doesn’t come until the end. You would RUN AWAY, if you met him on the first visit! (If only his PA N ick was the surgeon!) I finally met him on the 6th visit when I was ready for surgery. He came in and wasn’t familiar with my case, so I had to explain it to him. He agreed I needed surgery, but dismissed me and said I needed to get my things aligned because I didn't have anyone to take care of me afterwards, and because he “wouldn't send me to a Rehab Center!” After this visit, I’m still in terrible pain and wanted to move forward with surgery. So, I saw him again on the 8th visit after another MRI. This is when his true… “SELF” came out! I told him I had visited a Rehab center and that’s where I wanted to go. He said “they only have OLD Sick People there, that carry diseases”. I said that I didn’t see anyone old except one man in his 80’s and the rest were my age. That’s when Dr. Wimberly said “WELL, YOU ARE OLD”, and I said, “NO I’M NOT!” I asked him how old he was, and he wouldn’t answer! (He’s 56!) He said those words 3 or 4 times to me, and then said that I didn’t have long to live! He stated that the life expectancy is only 76 years now, and I only had 10 years left! (I have been an active Senior Citizen and worked for a Major Oil Corporation. I had just retired right before all my back pain started!) He went on to discuss how effective the shots had been in my back (they lasted about 6 weeks). Then he said that he could "only give me a 40% chance of improvement with surgery, which wasn’t much more than the results from the shots". I think he wanted me to continue getting the shots, because this is where the hospital makes the most money with their returning patients! I said that I wanted the surgery and I wanted to go to Rehab! He jotted some notes down and asked if I could meet with the Anesthesiology team and I said yes. He said to wait here and they would bring in my paperwork. While waiting I kept hearing him say those words over and over in my mind, and that’s when my composure changed! What kind of Doctor says that to his patient! Who has the audacity to say that! I looked up the Hippocratic Oath of a doctor and it says: “I will Maintain the utmost respect for human life; I will practice with conscience and dignity; I will not permit considerations of Age, disease, or disability…. to intervene between my Duty and my Patient; and so on”. He disregarded ALL of these! So I left the room and the nurse saw me and said she had papers for me. I shook my head and she asked, “So you don’t want the surgery”, and I said NO, and I walked out! I have never met anyone so disrespectful, rude, arrogant and uncompassionate! He made me feel undeserving & worthless! He has an obsession of a God complex!!! He doesn’t care about his patients or their feelings, especially if you're a Senior Citizen! It was the worse experience I’ve ever had! So now I have a new spine surgeon, and I took all the tests that were made there! I DON’T RECOMMEND DR. WIMBERLY AT ALL!

Dr. Wimberly and his staff do an excellent job very knowledgeable and highly qualified in their field. All the staff take a personal approach to your health and treat you as if you are the only patient they have to see that day, would highly recommend them to anyone needing spinal surgery. Dr. Wimberley and staff are warm, friendly and patient. He performed an Ant/ Post lumbar fusion L4-S1. I haven't felt this good in years. I've gotten my life back. If anyone is out there hurting and is facing this type of surgery, don't wait. It's very easy to forget that anything has been done to my back. I am now pain free.

Great experience. Dr. Wimberley preformed a cervical fusion just above a previous fusion that was done a Beaumont hospital 20 years earlier. Recovery from the 1st surgery was long and uncomfortable. Dr. Wimberly, his staff and the staff a Texas Orthopedic Hospital were great. They made sure that I was comfortable and that all of my questions were answered. I left the next day with no pain. Recovery is going great. I highly recommend Dr. Wimberly and TOH. I was apprehensive about having a 2nd fusion. They relieved all of my anxiety. I met everyone on my care team prior to surgery. They wanted to make sure that all my questions were answered. For having surgery, it was a very good experience. Once I was out of surgery and in my room, the care team there came by to answer any questions as well. Start to finish, everyone was friendly and helpful.

I start having back issues at this beginning of this year. I put it off as just a pulled back but the symptoms only got worse. I finally saw Dr. Wimberley after being referred by a family member and underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy. I was terrified to undergo back surgery at my age of 33. Dr. Wimberley explained everything to me in great detail and made me feel like I was his only patient that day. The surgery was a success and I am no longer in any pain and feel better than I have in months. My only regret is that I wish I had went to him sooner!! I can not sing his praises enough!

Dr. Wimberley is a great doctor, his bedside manner is awesome! I had to get a L5 S1 disc fragment removed and I was SCARED; so scared that I had given myself a panic attack leading up to the surgery. The whole experience was easy, there was no need to be scared at all. Everyone at the hospital was so nice and put me to ease right away. The surgery was successful, I have no more radiating pain down my right side. I am so glad that Dr. Wimberley was recommended to me by my chiro and that I did the surgery. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone that needs back surgery

Dr. Wimberly and his amazing staff are 5 stars. He recently did lower back fusion and I’m feeling 100 percent again Thanks to Dr.Wimberly, my savior !!!!

I had zero quality of life when I got lucky enough to see Sir wimberley as I affectionately refer to him. He performed a 360 lumbar fusion and I can walk again! I start rehab next week. His office staff Nizar, Nancy and Ida are extremely helpful! I will forever be grateful, so yes I highly recommend him!

So I went to Dr Wimberley with severe pain in my lower back. After trying shots we decided to do the lumbar fusion surgery. He and his staff were excellent in answering all my family's questions before, during, and after surgeries. It was a two part surgery. I've honestly not felt this good in over a decade and now have full range of motion back which is so important for my job. I recommend him to anyone having back problems.

Dr Wimberley has been my back surgeon/physician for over 15 years. He cares about his patients welfare and offers alternative treatments to prolong surgery, if possible.
