Dr. David E Wong, MD

Dr Wong has been seeing to my care for over 7 years, he is attentive caring and makes me feel he has all the time in the world to deal with my issues. He has a great sense of humor and a lot of tolerance. He is prompt to reply to my e-mails and I think he is great!

Dr. Wong was instrumental in helping my beloved elderly father get well in his recent hospitalization. Being the primary care doctor he did not have to do anything regarding inpatient care. However he followed along in the electronic records remotely, and when things did not go well, he interevened and helped to coordinate with the various specialists to come up with a strategy that eventually worked and saved my Dad's life. Not only that he visited and prayed with my Father at the bedside, and demonostrated the whole person care he talked about in this little biography here. Being in health profession myself it is inspiring to see other doctors practice compassion and spiritual care in addition to state of the art medicine.

Dr. Wong is caring and responsive. He listens well and patiently addresses each issue, and comes up with good practical solutions to each problem. My family is fortunate to have his care.

After 10 days post injury, which included two visits to urgent care, my knee was still swollen and painful. I contacted the doctor's office to see if they would give me an order to have an MRI. I was told Dr. Wong wanted to see me first. I came in to see him and left disappointed and angry. He was running behind and had a very small window of time available to see me. He asked about my symptoms, but I had to repeat them multiple times because he didn't hear them the first time. I explained to him how my knee was swollen even after a course of prednisone, and questioned whether it could be from a soft tissue injury as the xray from urgent care was negative. He literally looked at me and said "Soft tissue? What do you mean soft tissue?" I mentioned about maybe a tear, a foreign body rubbing around in there - things you could only see on an MRI. He completely dismissed it, and would not order it. He said they didn't order MRI's for every person with knee pain. Somehow, that… translated that I was asking for something completely inappropriate, and that I was being unreasonable. He finally consented to send me to the Ortho after he said he could send me to the Rheumatologist to deal with my joint. I couldn't believe it. He also said that I HAD to have a fall or something to cause the injury, which if you look on any Orthopedic website you will find to be untrue. He got me a knee brace, asked me if I wanted a cane, came back with nurse to fit the brace and said "OK? OK, bye bye" and high tailed it out of there. I work for a doctor, and I know how health care can be. I understand how insurance works and what's possible. I feel he ignored my symptoms, was unreasonably resistant to ordering a test that could actually show why my knee remains swollen and painful, and that he came into the room to get the appointment over with. I will not see him again.
