Dr. Dawn Stephanie Christopher, MD

I recently was sent to Dr. Christopher by my family doctor for Afib. She sat with me and listened to my concerns. She also made we feel very relaxed as she know I was in panic mode when she told me all that was going on. She took the time to explain the tests she wanted me to have. I feel safe with her that she will do everything to help me live a long life with this condition. I would recommend her to anyone I know. Also, the office staff is absolutely wonderful from the receptionist to the individuals taking the tests. They are a great team and I feel better knowing that they are watching over all this.

I was a patient of Dr. Christopher’s, seeing her for chest pain, shortness of breath, and strong family history of heart disease. From the first appointment I felt as if she didn’t listen, routinely cut me off as I tried to explain my concerns, and always seemed to be in a hurry. I felt she was very quick to offer diagnosis and courses of action without understanding all the issues involved, and seemed dismissive of critical points I tried to relay to her. Since I’m in my 50’s, with a strong history of heart disease in my family, I take this very seriously and want to make sure my physician has all the pertinent information so they can make an accurate diagnosis. When I tried to engage her in conversation and solicit more information about my condition, she would get annoyed with me, it was a very unpleasant experience given the gravity of the medical issues I’m dealing with. My last appointment I told her I was still experiencing chest pain, she said to me, “I don’t know what you… would like me to do about it”. That was the final straw and what eventually ended our doctor patient relationship. I feel there are never any circumstances where a doctor should say that to a patient. I would never see her again nor would I ever recommend anyone to her. I feel a doctor should have a general concern for the well-being of their patients and I feel she falls far short of that.
