Dr. Dawn Jackson Fyler

Try to avoid her. For 5 minutes of useless teleconference, Dawn J Fyler charged my husband $471. Are you kidding me? What for? Just making money?

I really liked her. She was personable and knowledgeable.

Great psychiatrist. She diagnosed me correctly and spends a good amount time talking to me and listening to my concerns

I have been to several psychiatrists and never have I been treated with such a lack of sincerity. She truly does not care about her patients nor does she take the time to get to know them. I saw her twice. She barely asked anything about me other than medications, which of course is important but obviously there is more that needs to be covered. During my second appointment I was dismissed within five minutes. She wrote my prescription refills and said see you in two months. That was it. I strongly urge people to find another psychiatrist. It truly does make a huge difference in your treatment.

This doctor is rude, does not communicate well, and is generally uncaring. Very unsatisfied!!!!

I have been seeing her for about 2 years. One time the office staff did not renew my medications on time but usually I have no problem. My friend sees her for depression and anxiety . She is the one who referred me and she is happy as well.

I have seen 3 psychiatrists trying to get my depression under control. Dr. Fyler spent time listening to me and came up with a treatment plan. I have been stable for 2 years now. I am back to work, and I feel great. I just sent my sister to her as she has similar issues and my sister is being helped as well. My sisters issue was substance abuse and Dr. Fyler confronted her and recommended treatment. She is quite straightforward. My sister at first was unhappy and did not want to hear the diagnosis. Now, she is sober and doing well. I bet that some of the negative reviews are because people got diagnosis that they did not want to hear.

I don't know where the negative reviews are coming from. She is one of the most knowledgable psychiatrists. She diagnosed me accurately. And has been following up with me well.

Going in to see Dr Fyler for anxiety, anger problems, told her of all the medicines another doctor and i had tried and one that worked. Tried to explain problems but Dawn Fyler (wouldnt consider her a doctor) seemed to be preoccupied with something else. was late for the appointment and stopped it 15 minutes early. over $300 for 40 minutes. called and had appointment removed as if it never happened. All negative reviews are accurate. Dawn Fyler has no personality, no bedside manner, and made me feel like a bad person talking to her, i had been doing well with my issues but seeing the doctor made everything worse and i had to leave that practice with more problems than when i started. it took a month and a half to get an appointment, and when Fyler recommended therapy she said it would be 2 months before I could be seen. Horrible experience, avoid this lady like the plague. She has set me back months from where i had come by myself, and i will not set foot in their Harrisburg office so… i dont have to see her. I called in they are removing the interaction with this doctor and rushing me into another psychiatrist. I REPEAT AVOID "DR" Fyler

Terrible beside manner, very condescending. Like someone else said, she does not understand "bipolar disorder" or maybe does not get the difference between it and depression. However, she did prescribe me Welbutrin and I had a seizure. Then she prescribed Pristiq, although I never did well on Effexor and Pristiq can also give you seizures, (Dr Fyler NEVER told me Welbutrin could cause seizures and she didn't tell me about Pristiq. She was surprised when I read the label and told HER it could cause seizures!) She was INSISTENT on my taking Pristiq so I asked her about the seizure side effect to which she said the chances were very small. So I asked what the chances were with Welbutrin, she said small. Then I asked what the chances were that given I had a seizure on Welbutrin that I would also have one with Pristiq and she said she didn't know, there haven't been any studies.. When I said I didn't want to take something else that could give me a seizure, she was very defensive and had… other doctors in the practice call to tell me they recommend I take this medication. I refused and told her I just wanted to be weaned off psychiatric meds, and she sent me a letter saying I wasn't complying with my care and she wouldn't have me as a patient. The therapist I was seeing at this office was wonderful, but I couldn't go back there after all the bad history/memories. I also had the same issues with refills of meds... her office would NEVER respond when the pharmacy would call... I would have to harass them about it. Once I even had to go to Behavioral Health on Billingsley to get my meds because this office was so unresponsive!
