Dr. Dawn Marie Murray, MD

I saw this women 11 years ago but I will never forget the one and only encounter I had with her. After suffering from severe postpartum depression and and unfortunate suicide attempt, I had to go and get my blood levels checked. When she looked at my file and saw the reason I was there she looked at me in the eye and sternly said, “Shame on you, shame on you, shame on you!” As someone who was still very vulnerable and working through the depression to find myself again, I was horrified to hear such judgmental words from a practitioner who obviously had little knowledge of postpartum depression and lacked empathy for another mother struggling to get through it. Those words stung and I can still feel the sting today as that was one of the most traumatic times of my life and instead of having support from a doctor who should have understood the hormonal and emotional issues, decided to add to the trauma and shame me. This woman will forever remain in my memory for this one encounter.

I was very pleased with Dr. Murray and her time with me! She checked me for everything and it was easy and quick. We also had a great conversation!

The doctor spent less than 2 minutes with me. I was never on the patient bed; she never checked me out. Asked 2 questions and wrote a prescription and left.
