Dr. Deborah S Sarnoff, MD

The first time I went to this office I waited 2 1/2 hours to be seen for 10 minutes by Dr. Sarnoff. The receptionist Nikki offered no apology just attitude. Once I was finally seen, Dr. Sarnoff rushed through my exam. I guess to be expected as she was at least 2 1/2 hours behind. I have a history that was important for her to know since she was seeing me for the first time, and I didn’t feel heard at all. The next time I went in I had asked about some blemishes on my face and was given a brief consultation to have them taken care of. I made an appointment and gave a $500 deposit in cash. After thinking about it for a week or so I called and said I had changed my mind and would like my deposit back. It took over 2 months and many nasty phone calls from Nikki to FINALLY get my money back. It was one excuse and lie after another. From then on I was extremely uncomfortable any time I had to call the office because I was spoken to rudely and hung up on while I was saying goodbye. After… this incident I was very turned off but decided not to let the rudeness of the receptionist dissuade me from seeing my doctor. I was having an episode of welts and rashes on my fingers and toes so I called and asked if I could come in to be seen. Nikki claimed there were no appointments for 4 weeks. When I told her that I was having the outbreak now and may not be in 4 weeks, she suddenly found an appointment in 2 weeks. I still was not convinced I’d have anything to show the doctor in 2 weeks so I asked her what she does when patients have issues like this that need to be seen immediately? She told me she tells them to go to the emergency room and that’s what I should do. I told her it’s not an emergency per se, just that it needs to be looked at before it’s gone! At this point I felt Nikki was not going to make it easy to give me an appointment ever. Every time I called the office she was rude and dismissive of me. At this point I really should have been done here but I decided to give it one last chance because I needed a skin check. I have a strong family history of skin cancer and I’ve had several spots removed from my body that were “moderate” and needed to be watched. Nikki could not get me in for almost 3 months. I took the appointment and decided to wait. A week or so before the appointment Nikki called to confirm and told me that soon Dr. Sarnoff would not be doing skin checks anymore- that she’d only be doing them for certain patients and because I’ve been waiting so long, she would do mine but after that it might not be her. My appointment is tomorrow. Today I received a call from a different receptionist (I guess Nikki felt too embarrassed to make this call after speaking to me just last week) that Dr. Sarnoff is no longer doing skin checks so a different doctor would be doing mine tomorrow. I explained that I was aware she was going to be stopping skin checks because Nikki had told me that last week, but she had also said that Dr. Sarnoff would be doing mine because I had waited so long for my appointment. The receptionist told me sorry but no she can’t do mine. She has too many cancer patients and Mohs surgeries to do. It is abundantly clear that this practice (Nikki?) plays favorites. If she doesn’t like you, watch out because your health might be put at risk. Dr. Sarnoff may be a good doctor, I really don’t know because my interaction with her has been so little, but any doctor who would employ staff who are rude, condescending, lie and pick favorites is not a doctor that I’d want taking care of me. Dr. Sarnoff lost me as a patient today. Anyone reading this would say what took so long?

Terrible office management and Dr. Sarnoff is’t great either. Totally dissatisfied with the care I (didn’t) receive.

I have been a patient of Dr. Deborah Sarnoff for several years. Although she is very well known and respected in her field, she is the most lovely, warm and down-to-earth person. It is a pleasure to go to her office to see her and her staff, who are also very welcoming and warm. She is an expert at what she does and I never even need to tell her anything because everything she does comes out perfectly!

I had a laser treatment done in 1995 for acne scars. Dr Sarnoff went in very deep, to the point where it removed all the melanin under my skin on the face. It was so painful and I was red for the entire year. To this day I still can’t tan on my face. When I went to the office after my procedure, I was scared and asking for help. they just brushed me off and said i was the only one with that reaction. Plus, my acne scars are still there. I am never doing laser again, she ruined the experience.

Most unprofessional medical practice in medicine history. Money before medicine is more like it. Dr. Sarnoff treats patients based on what they are willing to pay her. If its not going to financially benefit her pocket you can expect to be put on the back of the line. You would get much better care in a clinic. Same goes or her husband Dr. Gotkin who has more patients suing him for the poor plastic surgery he provides. The staff is all together nasty and incompetent on every level. This establishment is by far the most inadequate out there. Nothing you would expect coming from the practice of the President of the Skin Cancer Foundation. An absolute unprofessional embarrassment.

If I could give a no star review I would...She left my 80-year-old mother with an allergic reaction and then refused to release medical records that we needed in order to take her to an allergist. Both she and her husband bullied my mother and should not be allowed to work with elderly patients. She was a long time patient but never again-Dr. Sarnoff is extremely manipulative and greedy.

If I could give her no stars I would. She rushes through her exams and talks about herself the entire time. Sometimes she never sees you and sends in a physician’s assistant. She is nasty to her staff. Her ego is out of control . My time is important too and if I schedule an appt I expect a dr to enter the room. She is in her office conducting meetings. I will not return. She is also a walking advertisement of what too much filler looks like.

Dr. Sarnoff is unique because she not only treated my skin cancer but on several occasions I've had Botox and filler with her as well. Her staff is friendly, extremely accommodating and the medical assistants are very helpful. A+++

Went to Dr. Sarnoff to have skin cancer removed.She performed Mohs treatment.She has such a gentle hand.She removed the skin cancer without me even feeling the injection.Her staff is also wonderful.I would reccomend her to my friends and family.She is an out standing Doctor.

While Dr. Sarnoff is certainly knowledgeable about skin cancer I am extremely dissappointed in my experience at her office. During consult for Mohs procedure I was told that scarring is minimal thats why she works with a plastic surgeon and could laser it further if necessary. I booked first appointment at 9am, Dr. Entered room and injected lidocaine at 9:50am, she said she would be back in 2 minutes, at 10:45am I went to search for someone bc I think they forgot about me, 11am Dr is back in my room to do Mohs procedure without apology. I then waited in another room for results to see if she needed to take out more. Dr Sarnoff walked past me to tell nurse standing 5 ft away to "tell this pt she is all done and is waiting for Dr. Gotkin to sew her up". Then nurse takes a couple of steps toward me and tells me same thing-I was surprised that the pt she was talking about was me and did not just tell me herself! The first incision was surprisingly deep and large not the "layer by… layer" it should have been (I had procedure before). I finally got out of the office at about 1:30pm. When I went for suture removal I asked if I should come back if it is lumpy and was told I could but they will charge for it to be lasered. When I expressed my surprise bc I was told differently during consult the nurse said she said she knew most places will do complimentary laser after Mohs but they charged for it here in this office!! Needless to say I was extremely disappointed about the entire thing and frustrated with myself that I assumed laser was included like it had been in my other experiences and was led to believe.
