Dr. Debra S Shapiro, MD

The repetition of "rude" and "arrogant" in the 1 star reviews suggests that an individual is very angry and is arranging multiple bad posts. I can't imagine Dr. Shapiro being either rude or arrogant. Not possible. Apart from that she is very knowledgeable and has a gift for understanding what you may be struggling to say.

I must agree with the low rating received by Debra Shapiro. She is abrupt, a know-it-all that is ready to diagnose you without listening or paying any attention to anything other than her preconceived notions of one as a patient. I am unsure of why she is so defensive and is unwilling to explain or listen to other possibilities that could explain symptoms and conditions. She is an unfortunate MD.

I've been a patient of Dr. Shapiro for over 15 years. She is committed and thoughtful about health care and has taken excellent care of me. She take time to talk with me during my visits and listens to my perspective while also educating me about any medical issues I bring up.

Incredibly condescending, rude, and dismissive. Does not want to listen to you or care about what you have to say about your own body or symptoms. Has frequently misdiagnosed me because she does not care about anything other then finishing the appointment as fast as possible. She is a cold woman who does not seem to want to help her patients. I am glad I am leaving this practice, because I am truly disgusted with the treatment I've experienced.

Dr. Shapiro counts the minutes she spends with you. She keeps her eyes on the keyboard and not on you. She is condescending, does not manifest any compassion or empathy, and is eager to prescribe medications and follow-up appointments without fully understanding the whole picture. She is the worst doctor I've ever encountered. She is not warm, not reassuring, does not smile, and should be given a dose of her own medicine.

Dr. Shapiro mis-diagnosed a health condition and prescribed a medication that caused severe side effects. When I questioned her about this, she dismissed my concern and told me it was due to stress. She does not listen, she does not explain or educate, she refuses to consider or discuss alternative (ie, natural) treatments. My experience with her has been upsetting and frightening. I am no longer her patient.

Deb Shapiro is awesome. I have been her patient for 10 or more years. She cares deeply, is pleasant, explains things, is very knowledgeable. I trust her completely.
