Rating is based solely on post surgery contact with Surgeon and/or office. Since there has been none, 48 hours after surgery, we are not sure what exactly was done. Therefore, I can not comment one way or the other on Surgeons abilities. Patient's son who was at ER when his father went to OR received no phone call when surgery was complete. Patient's mother reached out to office later in afternoon and left message on voicemail. Did same next morning. Still no response. Mother visited patient and waited 1 1/2 hours while nurse paged a Resident 4 times. No response again. 3rd attempt to reach office this morning, same result. Same Surgeon operated on Patient's Father in past. Only thing that stands out from that encounter was a bill for Surgeon visit three days after Father left hospital. Hopefully, from a surgical standpoint, the Doctor did a good job but it's hard to say since he's never told anyone what was done or what to expect

Dr. Joseph was called in for emergency bowel resection on an 86 year old man. Dr. Joseph was professional and performed the surgery expertly. He was patient with the patient's family who needed questions answered often. The patient is recovering well. We heartily recommend Dr. Joseph for his expertise and his compassion.

I’ve never written a review on a doctor but I got to tell you I’ve never had a doctor spend so much time explaining my medical problems. He removed my gallbladder laproscopely due to gall stones but because of my other surgeries he had to open me up and I came home with a drain. Me not knowing what was going on inside he spent a lot of time explaining everything to me. He even drew pictures for me to better understand. If your looking for a doctor in colon and rectal surgery look no further. He died everything in his power to help you understand what your medical situation is.

I met Dr. Joseph when I was in South Nassau. With diverticulitis. He was so knowledgable and he could see I was too nervous about having surgery. He soothed my anxiety and said let's try other options first. And it worked. He checked on me every day and I was very comfortable with him I highly recommend his services.

I liked Dr. Joseph's personality. He put me at ease about my surgery right away. I trusted him although the hospital was the first time I met him. He was my surgeon and did a fabulous job. People that know him say he is a fabulous surgeon and person. I agree!!

I went into the hospital suffering from acute pain. Dr. Joseph performed exploratory surgery on me. It was an extensive procedure. Dr. Joseph's bedside manners at the hospital and during subsequent visits to his office were outstanding. I feel he saved my life. He accepted as full payment what my insurance provided even though he was not a participating doctor.

Dr. Joseph informed me while I was in the ER that I needed emergency surgery. Even though he was aware of my insurance info, he never once told me that he did not accept it. He performed the surgery and summarily billed me over $15,000 for a (relatively) minor surgery. After accepting the money allowed by my insurance he proceeded to go after me for the egregious balance. He and others of his ilk are what is wrong with the money-hungry and selfish medical profession.

Its a scary thought that this man is a doctor. When I was in the hospital he pushed hard into my abdomen and asked if it hurt, I said yes because you pressed so hard. He insisted I needed surgery and told me not to worry that he was like a samurai and born to cut. Then when I told him not to come back to my room, he kept coming back and billing me.
