Dr. Denis Nam, MD

I highly recommend Dr. Nam for knee or hip replacement. Dr. Nam is highly knowledgeable, professional and proficient in hip and knee replacement. His bedside manner is great and explains procedures and processes fully. His team was always accessible and knowledgeable. I’ve had both knees and a hip replaced and my wife has had a hip and knee replacement and is scheduled for her other knee to be replaced. Dr. Nam is one of the many reasons that Rush is tops in orthopedics in the state.

Dr Nam was very precise on what would be done. Explained everything in terms you could understand. Follow up was easy too! Love getting my daily text on how things should be progressing and number to call with concerns or problems. This made you feel cared for!! Think Dr Nam is great doctor!

Dr. Nam and his staff provide excellent service during surgery and throughout the rehab process. His daily texts provide encouragement, support, and specific exercises to help patients regain strength, flexibility, and range of motion. I highly recommend Dr. Nam to persons with knee and joint problems.

My surgery went fine. However, the pain meds they gave me in the hospital along with the required 2 pain meds a day blew out my stomach. After the third day home I became so sick with stomach issues and constant bowel movements of black stool. I called Catherine, Dr Nams nurse to explain my issues. She never once told me to stop the pain meds and said they were required. I had no idea how sick I had gotten. I kept calling their office day after day after day to complain about my stomach issues which were getting worse. Ultimately, I ended up in an ambulance to the hospital where they diagnosed me with a bleeding ulcer. My hemoglobin was less than half what it should have been. I was critically ill and needed a blood transfusion. The morning before I went to the ER I called Catherine again and told her how bad my stomach had gotten and that I thought I needed to be off the pain meds. She said no. That the protocol was 2 a day for the full six weeks. The GI doctors in the hospital were… appalled and angry that I was mistreated like this. They said that two meds a day is ridiculous. My hemoglobin was perfect before the surgery. My issue is that Catherine is like a robot. In all of my countless calls to her she never once ordered any testing yet she knew how sick I was in the stomach. She is like a robot only indicating the protocol. Protocol, protocol, protocol. Her inability to listen to her patient and provide medical care is the worst medical experience of my life. For that reason I cannot recommend this practice. Unless they fire her stay away from this office. I almost went into heart failure because I had no oxygen in my blood. What a nightmare. I am glad to be alive after this hellish experience brought on because of a nurse who provided zero care after being called a dozen times maybe more. She needs to lose her job!

Dr. Nam came highly recommended. I was bone on bone and once out of surgery I was up and walking with a walker, and had my first PT. I'm 6 week out and walking without a cane. I've got 5 more weeks of PT and have no doubt that recovery will take me to painless walking. In fact I'm seeing Dr. Nam's staff tomorrow to discus treatment on my other knee. I highly recommend Dr. Nam, his staff and Rush Ortho. Just be aware it can take time to see Dr. Nam because he is so good. Don't wait until the pain is too severe to schedule your appointment.

I had my first visit with Dr. Denis Nam to discuss my knee issues and the possibility of surgery, and I had a great experience. Dr. Nam was very professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain my condition and all of my treatment options in a way that was easy to understand. He listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable and confident about the next steps. I never felt rushed during my appointment, and his caring bedside manner really stood out. I would highly recommend Dr. Nam to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon who is compassionate, thorough, and truly cares about his patients.

Everyone was very professional. Visits went quickly. Staff very knowledgeable and patiently listened to my questions and concerns. Doctor was excellent . Also loved receiving my text messages encouraging me as well as reminding me where I was at with recovery. I had a very good experience and would highly recommend Dr Nam and staff

He was pleasant and listened to my issues. I requested for an excuse/accommodation letter and he gave it! I also asked for MRI and it was done and indeed showed I need the TKR. The team worked well and got back to me the same day I had questions and concerns.

I am extremely satisfied with care I received. I was so impressed with the daily reminders and encouragement from Dr Nam and his staff over the past six weeks. Messages was so helpful with keeping me uplifted as I recover from surgery.
