Dr. Denise Barnard

Even though now you get more time with your therapist than your psychiatrist, Dr. Barnard took the time to explain to me medications for my condition and the why of what I was going through was happening to me. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Denise Barnard is uncaring, rude, unprofessional. I definitely would not recommend her to anyone

I had to provide my RX history for her to see via my smartphone on my walgreens app...no joke. "It takes too long to pull it up here" was her reasoning. Never has a medical pro not done the due dilligence of verifying a patient's medical history beforehand with e documents from the DEA especually with all the staff they have on hand. Moreover, she was cavalier, dismissive, and unwilling to truly care. She eventually said she is best at being a "child psychiatrist"and would rather forward my care to either of her colleagues in the practice. I left without an important script for a serious documented case of panuc disorder which makes her liable to medical negligence. I'm 15 months from becoming a medical doctor and am now filing a formal complaint for behavior unbecoming of a physician with the Florida board of medicine.

She is condescending, but only have to see her once every 6 months for my meds.

I've been seeing Dr.Denise for a year and a half, and I like her! She has always taken my concerns about my diagnoses seriously. When I tell her about any problem, she treats my experience as valid and doesn't make assumptions or jump to conclusions. When I was diagnosed with ADHD she gave me an explanation of all the medication/treatment options available, and while giving me her opinion based on what would work best. She's also open to trial and error. Overall a great psychiatrist (though sometimes late, but not her fault because the office can be a bit of a mess). but they still have a great staff.

She's ok when there's no one else available no the best. I wouldn't go to this clinic at all if all the other psychiatrists in town weren't busy

EXCELLENT VISIT

I arrived at the designated time and place and was seen promptly. Dr. Barnard spent a long time with me listening to my story and helping me to determine underlying issues and a good diagnosis. She was clear yet empathic and was able to keep the conversation focused and productive. Her sensitivity to my instability allowed me to feel safe while she provided me with very important and helpful feedback. That was a new experience for me! We agreed on a course of action which includes medication as well as individual psychotherapy. I highly recommend Dr. Barnard!

The first doctor in that office was 3 hours late (not overstating at all), unapologetic and dismissive. Denise Barnard appeared rushed, jumped to prescribe medication without really getting to know me as a patient, and was also dismissive - when trying to describe symptoms and background, she said that if a therapy session was needed, I should arrange one with someone else. It took me months to get in to see her. What a waste of time.
