Dr. Dennis L Ortiz, DO

Went in for a basic blood draw and received an unnecessary confrontation with the person who drew my blood. Unable to answer basic questions, got offended, and gave “the hand” before walking away. Most workers in this office look beaten down and unfriendly.

After unsuccessful surgery to bombard one of two kidney stones, the doctor passed me on to his PA to explain what didn't happen...Dr. walked pasy the open door to the exam room, looked in, didn't speak...I've seen only the PA since then, but heard Dr. talking in the hallway and in either exam room next to mine....Great disappointment on my part....Don't know if I'll continue with this Dr. or not....

From the initial phone call to make the appt I felt welcomed. Yes the wait was a little longer than I would have liked but what doctor doesn’t have a wait these days?! The intake staff were very pleasant to deal with, the nurse or maybe he was the PA was super nice and explained everything so that a non medical student. could understand. The dr even took the time to stop by and speak to me about the surgery needed for the stone removal, when my appt wasn’t even with him but he wanted to make sure I knew who I was going to be seeing for surgery. Doctor even sent me home with meds to keep me comfortable that the ER didn’t do. The check out girl was very kind and courteous as well. Overall this place was great from start to finish!

I am considering changing urologist!! On every visit I am left waiting at least 45 minutes after my appointment time. No matter if I had an early appointment or later in the day. I can always count on the wait. They overbook patients and apparently do not consider my time nearly as valuable as his!

The loud speaker music is for a reason, go figure.

Dr. Ortiz is one in a million and of all of my doctors he is by far my favorite. I have seen him for more than 10 years now and have always been impressed by his genuine concern for this patient in his office, in the surgical suite, and in recovery. And I am by far not an easy patient...especially in recovery. When Dr. Ortiz sees you he sees YOU the person, not the chart, not the labs, not the x-rays. He greets you and wants to know how you are, not what diagnostic tools say about you. He understands you know your body and how you feel better than what anyone or anything can tell him. I often see in reviews people mention wait times and yes you may wait to see Dr. Ortiz and it is generally because of a patient like me who had an emergency overnight and the office is working diligently to take care of all of us. What most fail to see is he will do the same for you should you have an emergency. The care Dr. Ortiz provides to me and the fact he sees me first as a person and then as a… patient means he is worth the wait. Thanks Dr. O!!!

After having a nightmare experience with a different urologist just a few years previously, I changed to Dr. Ortiz and (needless to say) I was just plain scared. But he exceeded my hopes and expectations! I highly recommend him to anyone needing a urologist. :-)

Yesterday I had my first visit with Dr. Ortiz, and I can truthfully say I am very favorably impressed! I've had "nightmare" experiences with two previous urologists, but Dr. Ortiz was very compassionate, kind, and took time to listen to and address my concerns. He put all my fears to rest. I very highly recommend him.

First appointment with Dr. Ortiz. Busy practice, some wait time, waiting area almost full. but that's ok if you think about it! All staff professional and very nice - personable. When my time came to meet with Dr. Ortiz, there was no feeling of being rushed. He's very competent, friendly and a good listener. Asked pointed questions, clarified all of mine, and invited me to contact him if any other questions occur to me later.

Dr. Ortiz is very knowledgeable, has a great personality, and really cares about his patients. I give him an A+ and recommend him highly.
