Dr. Dennis William Reedy, MD

I have been a gastro patient of Dr. Reedy's for several years. He has always been pleasant, patient and informative. He makes the most difficult proceed do able. I recommend him highly.

I had a great experience with the office and then with the endoscopy unit. The staff and doctor were on time, efficient, knowledgeable and the offices were like a well oiled machine. the endoscopy unit was also very efficient and the staff was very caring and patient. I was nervous about the procedure and I could tell they were all doing Their best to make me as comfortable as possible.

Dr. Reedy is a good doctor that seems to be very knowledgeable. During appointments, he’s sharp, to the point, and has a plan. Unfortunately, he’s plagued by a terribly unorganized office. Syracuse Gastro continues to confuse me by losing appointments and not being able to work with other offices. Their office has complicated the process for being referred to a specialist. It’s impossible to get accurate and timely information if you call their nurses. Not many options in Syracuse but unfortunately the office is bad enough that I can’t recommend Dr. Reedy if it requires working with SGA

Dr.Reedy is a wonderful doctor and tell you the truth. He help you and your family through it all.

My husband had a complicated problem. He told the doctor his symptoms. The doctor did not listen. He was only correctly diagnosed because of the hospitalist at Crouse who insisted he be re-evaluated instead of following the directions from Syracuse Gastro. After the corrected diagnosis. My husband went from 169lbs to 117lbs over a 12 month period. We were unable to speak directly to the doctor. The scheduled appointments were so far apart that he would have crisis between appointments. We tried many times to get help from this office with no success. My husband was hospitalized in Aug. because the doctor "could not" preform a colonoscopy for 12 weeks and "could not" prescribe the correct drug until he did so. Meanwhile my husband became sicker and sicker. After this bout, he was further neglected until he was hospitalized in Dec. He was supposed to get IV nutrition and even that was delayed 3 days until he had a heart event because no one took responsibility for the orders. The surgeon… and cardiologist saw my husband every day in the hospital. Syracuse gastro "forgot" to see him 3 different times and would have released him without the doctor seeing him on the final day had I not protested because he was having symptoms. My husband is alive because we found a different doctor out of the area.

Only negative is I felt he didn't give me bad news in a compassionate way. He layed it all out there and in a very rough matter of fact way. Felt his way was the only way and didn't list my rejection of treatment as an option but only 2 drugs as prevention when I'm already healthy. Felt like my decision wasn't my own- like he wanted to make it for me. Didn't feel like he respected my wishes.
