Dr. Dennis Alan Williams, MD

After being a patient for over a year, we agreed to part company NOT amicably. This doc has very poor interpersonal relationship skills. In my opinion, he is dismissive, rude, and appears to take any questioning of his methods as a personal attack. I did not like going to his office at all. Happily, I found a new doctor who is kind, respectful, open-minded, pleasant, and genuinely pleased to get patient questions. I feel "human" again...if you know what I mean. Would not recommend this doc to anyone except an enemy. The staff were polite but uncomfortable.

Received a referral and after three appointments gave me a prescription for Percocet at a very ineffective dosage. He made it very clear that he was NOT interested in any other medical problems or issues and refused to accept that I had an extremely high tolerance for Percocet because I had taken it for so many years. After that, all he was interested in doing at each subsequent visit was just writing a prescription for the same thing. Visits lasted about 10 minutes... just long enough for him to make a note and write a prescription for Percocet. Extremely arrogant and egotistical... Likes to hear himself talk more than listen to his patients.

Dr Williams has to be one of the most caring doctors I have ever had. He takes the time to listen to all my health issues before working with me with a plan to treat my problems. He makes me feel as if I am an active member in my own healthcare.

not very interested in rehabilitation, would be compliant to write Rx for pain but not the direction I wanted to take. Not too interested in bio-mechanics of movement.

I went to this doctor upon a referral from my primary physician. I have fibromyalgia & myofacial pain syndrome. I used to go pain management at MCG before they got taken over by the University of Ga system & all their good doctors left. I make this point because my pain mgmt doctors Dr.Routon,Dr. Espanol, & others were excellent! Dr. Williams on the other hand upon my first visit did absolutely nothing for me & did not seem to comprehend or care that I was in constant pain which was interfering with every aspect of my life. Instead of helping me with a procedure or a new or stronger pain medication to get out of immediate pain & to subside the flare up, He actually tried to cut my medication to almost nothing. Let me state, that at one point I was on very large doses of several narcotic pain medicines & muscle relaxants. I was taking oxycontin,percocet,ultram, flexarel etc.. I worked with the doctors & at home through lifestyle & diet changes to improve my condition & get back some… level of a normal life. I took myself off of all of the pain medicines & muscle relaxants except ultram(which was considered at the time a non-narcotic). It was not like I just wanted drugs. I know when I need more pain meds to get over a flare up which only gets worse & can last for months & months if something is not done to break the cycle of pain. And Dr. Williams did nothing & I never returned for a second visit!
