Dr. Derek Ian Skinner, MD

Dr. Skinner has been our family physician for over 15 years. He is always professional at all times yet he has a genuine care and concern about all of my family members. My family appreciates his service for our community

My wife was feeling awful for a while and went in to see Dr. Skinner. The staff was pleasant while we were there and they sent her to get lab work done at an offsite Lab (due to insurance reasons). We NEVER heard back from the doctor or his staff after this. We contacted them several times via phone and in person and were always told the lab results were not ready. We finally contact the Lab ourselves and had them send us the results. The Lab verified the results were sent to the Doctor's office 2 days after they received the blood. Luckily my wife went to see another doctor about a week after that, because she had an infection that required 2 rounds of antibiotics to take care of. We still have not heard form Dr. Skinner. They clearly don't care about the health of their patients. I guarantee you they got their co-pay and as much money from the insurance as they could. This is what happens when they value money over patient care.

My daughter was skipped over for her appointment, I went to the desk to ask about it and none of the women signing in patients knew what happened. The blond woman went to find out what the problem was and politely sat back in her desk and went on with signing people in without informing us of anything. We left after an hour, I am sure that someone wants and appreciates my business enough to at least be courteous. We waited over an hour for absolutely nothing even though I asked. Dr Skinner is probably an amazing Dr., too bad the ladies in the front could care less about his patients or his business.

I was skeptical about getting "referred" by my health insurance. I asked for someone young and not too old. Alot of my previous drs were of the age of passing away of natural causes but when I went to Dr Skinner fove years ago he was a blessing. Not just for me and all my stupid issues but for my children and foster children as well. He is there for me and my children (including foster). Some people have left negative remarks BUT you cant always blame a doctor for ur problems and ending up in the hospital. I have never once had a bad experience with dr skinner. He changes nursing staff quite often but lacey has been there for quite some te and I can only continue to speak highly of them. Hes never given me false hope. With of medical symptoms they can mimic so many other things that its a gamble even drs have to play BUT I would recommend anyone to Dr Skinner. I have been very happy with him now for the last what almost five years

Dr. Skinner has been very caring and concerned with helping me with any problem I've gone to him with. He listens and pays attention to me when we talk. His staff is also very kind and caring as well. Highly recommended!

Very caring, will get to know his people.

At first Dr.Skinner was very helpful, and wonderful to me and my family. He helped me through some bad times. As time went on, he made me feel like I was wrong like he did not believe me. That hurt me the most I felt so stupid after leaving the office. I feel like he would not listen to me,or help me...I finally just quit asking for help. I landed in the hospital twice, after going to see him with problems that he could have helped me with if he would have listened to me. I finally made the decision to take me and my family somewhere else. It was a tough decision, but I did not want his ill feelings of me to be taken out on the rest of my family. Finally the staff is not as friendly as they used to be. I don't know what happened, everyone used to be so friendly, talk to us, help us. Not anymore, and I have been back a time or 2, giving Dr.Skinner and his nurse the benifit of the doubt, and it was exactly the same.

Great doctor! Very friendly, easy to talk to, really good with kids, too

thank you for being a caring doctor. i have always been sort of scared to have a doctor of the opposite sex, but hey, you have been there many times, and are caring, and nice and sweet, and i would recommend you to everyone.
