Dr. Desha Aaron Frankel, MD

I have talked to numerous staff members here over the last few months, and each of them, including the office manager, acts as if you are bothering them. They are dismissive, lack compassion, and are plain rude. They are quick to shift blame and have a “not my problem” attitude. No one should have to tell them it’s their responsibility to follow up with a patient after that patient completes an evaluation Dr. Frankel requested. You have the results in your hand...call your patient. I called 3 times to see if they had my evaluation and each time, I was dismissed. Dr. Frankel was great when I saw him, but because of his rude/incompetent staff, I will be seeking a referral elsewhere. Very frustrating.

I have had my fair share of doctors who I haven't liked in the past but this is by far the worst doctor I have ever been to, he makes all other "bad" doctors seem like the greatest. I waited an hour past my appointment to be seen which wasn't the frustrating part, but now it's the end of his day and seems annoyed I'm in his office. Since I have had issues with no answers for over 10 years which I expressed to him I had a lot of questions, he stood by door and barely 4 minutes into me being in front of him while I was still asking questions he had his hand on the door opening it. Undiagnosed and without testing he told me "if I have IBS it's just something I'll have to live with" I was still asking questions and he was walking me out after not even being with him for 5 minutes total. I understand there isn't much a doctor can do without running tests but in the midst of me asking questions I was being walked out of his office and told he can refer me to about 4 different other things to… have done with not even explaining what each of them will entail or what the purpose of them is. I got more questions answered by the nurse who wrote me the referrals than "doctor" Frankel. My personal information form took longer to fill out than the time he gave me to explain my history of gastro issues to him or answer my questions I had. I felt I should have apologized for being an inconvenience for him. Not to mention the fact I paid a $30 copay for him to basically just walk me out of a room . Before he would prescribe me anything on my way out I had to ask him if he could prescribe me something and he told me there isn’t much to take for IBS so prescribed me one that said probably won’t get approved by my insurance, now I’m reading and there’s many medications that can be prescribed so I also am now questioning his ethics and trustworthiness.

My experience was an upper G.I. and total breeze, never even knew I had been out. I went home feeling great.

The staff is MEAN and will run you away from here. They do not even know how to set up services or any help outside of their office. The Dr is nice and I liked him but from the start the staff was terrible and you will suffer and maybe die with the mistakes the staff. Go there makes.at your own risk

Waited 5 hours for procedure. The rudest office staff ever. All he seems to care about is your money. Stay away from these doctor owned clinics.

I have been going to this Dr. for 15 years. I thought he used to be wonderful, but I never had any issues that needed follow up. He has become very money hungry and will even lie to make you have more procedures. I wanted to have a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy at the same time and he insisted they had to be done separately because of my insurance company. After speaking with several other doctors and my insurance company, I found this is a complete lie - he only wants to make twice the money doing them separately. Unfortunately, I had severe pain after my endoscopy, along with a fever. I left seven messages with the nurses over a 2 week period, and also 3 e-mails to the doctor. I actually had to self-diagnose my problem via the internet, that the pain was due to a reaction to the medication he had prescribed. One phone call would have made me feel better and with less anxiety. When I went back two weeks later from my follow up and told him about it, he was very cocky and said "well,… you're better now." This man is so money-hungry and uncaring. I will never, ever recommend that anybody see this doctor.

Dr Frankel is very friendly, professional, with a great bed-side manner. I have undergone two minor procedures with this doctor and am very satisfied with the results. He was referred to me and I have referred him to others.

The office staff is rude. The doctor tries to diagnose you without fully listening to your symptoms. In my case he missed a crutial part of a test report becuase he did not read it all. I had to show him (I got a copy before he did). It appears that Dr. Frankel is more interested in money than patients.Even though I was in pain, they made me wait 2 weeks to get an appointment after several tests.

My husband and I had a very good experience with Dr Deshel. We have already recommended him to our friends. We love his bedside manner. He took his time speaking to us answered or questions and was not rushed.
