Dr. Desiree Alexander

Desiree’ is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over seven years of experience. She provides therapy for ages 14 + and working with diverse populations including the Geriatric and disabled adult community in the social work field, helping to maintain a healthy environment and mindset to help individuals cope in different situations. Desiree' also has some experience working with adolescents who struggle with understanding their identity and recovering from substance use. Desiree' has experience in helping clients who deal with Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Low self-esteem, Substance Use, Life Transitions, Grief and Loneliness. Desiree' completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Alabama A&M University. Desiree’ has a passion and goal of providing therapy to bring an individual back to being their true, authentic self and free of any negative thoughts that one may be feeling. Desiree’ approaches her work from a cognitive/behavioral perspective—Desiree is interested in helping …an individual think about how they think, and to sort through life's complexities to help them achieve their goals. Desiree' will also use approaches, such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy Desiree' understands that life does not play fair and that it will take you through twist and turns that you may or may not be prepared for. Desiree' makes it a point to listen carefully to what you may be struggling with and will create a safe, non-judgmental and supportive environment.
