Dr. Desiree J McGann, DPM

Dr. Desiree J. McGann has been dedicated to serving the residents of Jackson County since 1998. Originally from Jamaica, she was inspired by a family friend and mentor to pursue a career in podiatric medicine. In 1989, she enrolled at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, embarking on her journey to become a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.). After completing her degree in 1993, Dr. McGann remained in Chicago to undertake two years of residency training at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Cook County Hospital.During her time at Cook County Hospital, Dr. McGann developed a keen interest in diabetic foot care. She witnessed firsthand the critical role podiatrists play in preventing foot amputations, especially for diabetic patients. This experience deepened her commitment to improving foot health and shaped her specialty.
