Dr. Devanshi Gupta, MD

I was treated disrespectfully and dismissively during my visit. My questions about my symptoms and her diagnosis weren’t taken seriously and ridiculed. Unkind and zero empathy.

Dr Gupta and her staff are truly horrible, unprepared and can’t run a successful practice. The staff has difficulty completing the most basic of tasks like scheduling appointments, calling in prescriptions and submitting insurance claims. Dr Gupta is always running late. Patients wait in the 80s waiting room in an run down office building for 45 minutes or longer to spend all of 10 minutes with Dr Gupta. She doesn’t listen and orders unnecessarily tests and prescriptions. In all reality, she should not be practicing medicine. I have had two appointments where she wasn’t even in the office and her incompetent staff didn’t even call to cancel. Please stay away.

Saw her after a recommendation from another doctor. The appointment process was fine. She walked into the room and sat at her computer. I asked her a question and she responded with..."Do not speak to me until I put my notes in the computer." No examination. She said, "You have a bad spine. You have autoimmune disease. I suggest you learn to live in pain." Followed by, "I suggest you go to UTSW Rheumatology." Walked out of the room. This woman is terse, rude and arrogant. She does not deserve the privilege of practicing medicine. Go anywhere, just not to her.

Dr: I don’t think I can see you.. I think you are seeking many drs and trying to over medicate by many drs. ( * Btw, I have never met her) And how do you know you have epilepsy?? Me: what? self medicate on seizure meds? oh? Nice to meet you to? Well— brain surgery, MRI’s, cat scans & ALL the reports I sent over to you should have explained it all. Dr: well I don’t like to take patients that dr hop. Me: oh... well, do you want to make an assumption or would you like to hear my story or just be judgemental? I proceed to tell her. Then she tells me that she doubts I even have the neuromuscular disease I have, proceeds to not even refill any seizure meds I am out of or anything until I provide more proof. Although I gave her over 50 plus pages, and she said she spent hours reviewing. WASTE of time and money...

I came with my 71 year old mother who was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons. She had been calling the doctors office for a week to tell them the medication given to her was causing major side effects. When she finally got a call back it was to tell her that she needed to come into the office. When we got there my mother told her the same thing and she immediately said okay then stop taking it and I will prescribe you something else. She could have done that over the phone. But maybe it's all about the billable hours for Medicare. When I asked how to spell the new medication she said it will be on the script, I said yes, but I am just asking you to spell it and only then did she do it, she do it so I could look it up. She did a quick check, but during the entire exam that took all of 5 minutes she talked very fast, loud and over my mother. When my mom asked if she could ask a question she responded only if it was regarding her area of expertise. Excuse me? How about you… listen first and then say whether or not it was outside your area of expertise. I had questions too but by then I knew her answers would not come from a place of care or concern. I was appalled by her abrupt and dismissive bedside manner. She never saw me before so one would think she would have displayed a more caring and considerate attitude. However I am glad she did not, for if this is truly how she treats her patients, then we will be finding another doctor. Thou shalt do no harm - applies to a person's overall wellbeing - and by that how well you treat a person is evident by the way you listen to them and talk to them.

She gave out personal information to the entire waiting room and claims epidiolex doesn't work and will eat holes in your brain.

I’ve had the worst experiences ever with this place. Also, the receptionists are very unprofessional, untrained and disrespectful.

She moved away from her Central Expway address without letting her patients know until calling her for an appointment! She did nothing for me except talk, talk, talk without saying much! Her staff didn't even know how to properly take blood pressure readings! I've tried for days to call her to cancel an appointment and never got an answer.....phone just kept ringing and then a busy signal. She is bad news. Stay away from her!

Office staff is unorganized - asking me to rill out same papers several times, calling me the wrong name, inadvertently calling me after I had already talked to them. Doctor is arrogant and lied to me. She assured me my test results were fine. I found out they had never received the results.

Not sure where to begin. Rude? Yes. Arrogant? Yes. Bedside manner? Perhaps the worst I've ever witnessed. So...I was referred to this Dr. by my treating psychiatrist, who also sees her. The appointment went like this: She comes into the room and says, "Do not speak to me while I'm reviewing your records and dictating into my mic." I'm like, OK. After that she informed me, I don't care what any of your other doctors have said. I'm not easily influenced. I will perform my physical exam and tell you what I think. Then you can ask questions." She performed her exam...and said "I'm not sure you have small fiber neuropathy." I had a punch biopsy three years ago. She said you have cervical issues, and possibly autoimmune disease. Have you been to UTSW? I told her I had and she said, "well...they're the best. Also, since you do have autoimmune issues you're going to have pain, so get used it. Learn to live with it." No suggestions...no empathy...no compassion. In fact, I don't think… she knows the meaning of those words. I started to ask her another question and she walked out of the room. Appointment over. She may be a good doctor. She may actually be a good diagnostician, but at the end of the day her bedside manner is ruthless and reprehensible.
