Dr. Dhiraj Bedi, DO

If I could give her a zero, I would. What's worse is my family seems to like her, yet I have nothing but problems with her. First time I went to her, I had second degree sunburns, and she said it was nothing. next time, I was miserably sick and she says "Your not as sick as you feel" and just sent me on my way, The worst was Back in 2013, I slipped on some ice and hurt my head and neck (On a Friday, after 5pm) waited it out until Monday, hoping it would get better. I couldn't move my neck. When I went in that Monday, she got mad at me for not coming in on Friday (After they were already closed for the weekend) gave me some meds and sent me on my way. I have Epilepsy now, and it went diagnosed for FIVE MONTHS. I WAS STILL DRIVING FOR FIVE WHOLE MONTHS!! I had a prior history of Epilepsy (Took meds for it, grew out of it as a child) and it says it in files. she DID NOT recommend I see a neurologist, or do any kinds of tests there. As I said, I went FIVE months without realizing I had… epilepsy again. How she is even a doctor is beyond me. I am so glad she is no longer my doctor, she is horrible.

I am new to the area and Dr. Bedi accepted my insurance, so I made an appointment. The initial appointment was for a meet and greet after hours. I arrived and was seated in an exam room and waited for Dr. Bedi while filling out paperwork. She came in, sat on her stool and began telling me about the policies of the office- what she will and will not do. Like- she treats kids, but not pregnant women; she treats acute pain, not chronic pain, then gave me an example; she doesn't prescribe more than one anti-depressant or anxiety meds at a time- she'd send her patient to a psychiatrist; to have an RX refilled, the patient has to be seen every three months; she told me I am not permitted to go to the ER without contacting her first or I would be dismissed from the practice and I had to sign paperwork that confirmed this. She told me about PPOs and HMOs. All I came for was a physical! This was not a conversation, this was a dictation and a lecture that I didn't sign up for. I told her… these things don't even apply to me. After telling me everything that she doesn't do, she asked if I had any questions about the policies. I said, "No." and thought it was my turn to tell her why I was there or any health concerns I had. She immediately told me if I still wanted to make an appointment, that I could at the counter. She got up, opened the door and walked out. I got up and went to the counter. As she walked passed me, without making eye contact and said, "Nice meeting you." I wish I could have said the same. Dr. Bedi has a terrible bedside manner, is rude, short and not someone I will have as my doctor.

I love Dr. Bedi. My husband and i have been with her since we've been married (7 Years)and now she is my 15 month old's Pediatrictian and we couldn't love her more. Staff is awesome, friendly and caring and more than helpful. Dr. Bedi is ALWAYS there when I need her even when she's out of the country she took my call. Love her! :)

Early on this Doc was adequate with simple health issues and exams.As time went on and I saw her for more complex probs. I saw how inpatient and aggresive she can get.Her personality is complex and at times hard to deal with esp. when I'm vulnerable and worried due to illness.

I have been going to her for at least a year to two years and always had an good experence with her. She does not believe in long term pain meds but other than that she's been alright. The only problem I have ever had is refilling my inhalor from my asthma. I only had two shots of it left and she told me that it would be fine. I have found other ways to cope but it takes a lot longer and about 45 percent of the time I still need it.

I had been with this doctor for several years, but recently changed. In my situation she always had a wait and see kind of approach and didn't want to ever give a referral. She raised her voice with me on several occasions. I left her office in tears more than once. She made you feel like you were dumb and a waste of her time. Very argumentative and short. I once had to wait in her office (in a room) for 2 hours because after she raised her tone to me she excused herself to go cool down. It was over an hour later before she came back in. Whenever I would tell her what I thought was my problem I was always wrong. I couldn't sleep at night because of RLS and expressed how bad it was. She told me I didn't have RLS and I was just anxious and depressed. She prescribed me xanax and wellbutrin. After going to a new doctor he about fell over when I told him what I was taking those meds for. He took me off those and prescribed me something that actually works and is recommended… for my condition.When I first started seeing this doctor I really liked her, but the past few years or so she has gotten pretty rude and doesn't want to order tests of any sort because she claimed my insurance didn't like when doctors ordered expensive tests. She told me my daughter would have to have 10 ear infections before she would send her to a specialist. Instead she told me to take her to the health department for a hearing test. I would avoid asking questions so I wouldn't create any conflicts. The last time she yelled at me was because I had to take my daughter to the emergency room when we were out of town. I've NEVER taken her to the ER before. She didn't like the antibiotics she prescribed and was scolding me about it. I told her to take it up with that doctor and I also told her I didn't come to her office to be yelled at. She then told me she wasn't yelling... so I then termed it as barking at me. She told me she wasn't even in a bad mood. She had an intern in the room and he was standing in the corner looking like OMG! She once told my husband for over 3 weeks he had the flu. He continued to go back in every week because he kept getting worse. She never ordered labs, xrays, ultrasounds, or anything. Just kept saying it was flu season and he could expect to have it as long as 6 weeks. He ended up in the emergency room thinking he was having a heart attack. Before all was said and done he ended up having his gallbladder removed because he had a stone the size of a gumball that couldn't pass through. It was pretty scary. He could have avoided a lot of pain and possibly surgery had she done something about it. Not to mention his billi levels were sooooo high you could see it in his color - he was jaundice! All I can say is we now have an excellent doctor who is aggressive and on the ball. He doesn't wait around for damage. The key to health is prevention and early detection. I might have thought she would know that, but this is NOT her philosophy by any stretch of the imagination.

This doctor doesn't know the meaning of bedside manner. I say this because she is short with you & makes you feel as if your opinion doesn't matter. I went to her for pain & swelling in my hips. She poked at me and told me to take over the counter meds. I did as she stated but after 3 months the pain was still there and at some points worse. I shared this with her and her reply was, "You are getting old and pain comes with age, "If you want I can write scripts all day long". I am 44 yrs old I don't think I'm at the state of geriatrics just yet. She told me my insurance carrier BCN doesn't like it when doctors order MRI's or write to many scritps. They would like to exhaust all other measures first. I'm looking for a doctor that will treat me as well as what hurts me. One that when I say I'm in pain doesn't take my temp & say "no infection take over the couner meds" but one that will treat what hurts me!

Although this doctor is overall friendly and her staff is very nice, she seems to not be very thorough with her exams. Very quick to do blood pressure, throat check, look in ears, listen to chest, etc. Too fast to really see or hear anything in my opinion, which worries me that maybe she's missing possible problems.

A great doctor....very caring and very nice..she is also GREAT with kids.
