Dr. Diana Linda Andrews, MD

During both routine appointments and treatment for illnesses, Andrews has represented her practice poorly. She is always frowning and seems annoyed by children. A few times she got the medication/dosage wrong and we found ourselves having to go to walk-in clinics for urgent care needs a day or two later. She also overbills to the highest code possible. For example, a 15-minute appointment will be billed for 25 or 40 minutes. She only asks the most obvious questions related to symptoms and you can she isn't even listening to what you're saying. She acts likes she's always distracted. She has no technique for helping children deal with painful or scary procedures like shots or throat swabs. Instead, she just glares at the parents as if to say, 'I don't have time for this. Do something about your kid so I can get this over with.' The doctors that had a nice bedside manor with children have all left the practice. The office staff is unaccomodating and inflexible. They don't accept… credit cards, they can never give you the estimated billed amount in case you want to pay sooner than later and not wait for your bill, and yet they have the nerve to add a $5 penalty after 30 days when in fact the delays occur because of their own dsyfunctional system. There are several receptionists but actually only one person - one person for a practice that serves hundreds of families! - that can answer any questions about billing issues. Phone is always turned off for a full lunch hour plus 10 or 15 minutes, and if you try to call right when they open for the day good luck getting through. Likewise, don't count on anyone answering at 4:01 p.m. Only plus side is that the nurse practitioners are nice, have a good bedside manor and seem to know what they're doing. If you have to go to Eastside due to location or shortage of other pediatricians in the area, I would recommend selecting one of the doctors with whom you've had a good experience (if they even stay more than one year) and request them every time.
