Dr. Diana Bolotin, MD

Dr. Bolotin dismissed my concerns about whether a plastic surgeon should be involved given the very visible location of the Mohs excision. That was the first red flag, but I continued with the surgery because she had been recommended by another U Chicago dermatologist. The surgery ended with her telling me “not to call” if I had concerns about my scar appearing irregular, out of line, and lumpy. I now have an unsightly scar that restricts my movement, and have spent a lot of hours and a lot of money working with other doctors to fix it. I would recommend seeing a different doctor if you are concerned about the cosmetic result after Mohs surgery, or if the location of the scar could compromise your mobility.

The wait times are outrageous. I'm very satisfied with the doctors and the care. If it weren't for that, the waits would be too discouraging.

Dr. saw me on a busy day in her clinic but took time with me and was friendly throughout. Put me at ease with clear discussion of my options and gave detailed yet easy instructions for care after the procedure. Follow up was excellent.

Dr. Bolotin was terribly unprofessional and rude. On the positive side her nurse was competent and it was easy to get an appointment. On the negative side, she gets very angry if you ask her questions about the treatment or her background. She actually yelled at me during my visit like some kind of Department of Motor Vehicles clerk having a bad day. I do not know what is so terrible about asking questions but she takes great offense to it. But, I needed help fast so I had to swallow my pride and endure it. The experience was very demeaning and Dr. Bolotin turned a bad day into a dark one. For anyone looking for a compassionate professional healer, avoid this one like the plague.
