Dr. Diane M Wininger, PhD

I do want to add some comments concerning the help I have received, and continue to receive, from Dr. Diane Wininger at the Florence S.C. VA Outpatient Clinic!...When I first started my meetings and sessions with Dr. Wininger I was at a stage where I was experiencing almost constant depression, stress, extreme anxiety, etc. This was due to the effects of PTSD that was determined to be related to experiences in Vietnam and later the loss of two close friends from Viet Nam and Okinawa due to very tragic circumstances (one in a car accident and another due to suicide).... I was at a point where I felt any more counseling would be a waste of time for me. Although I had already received some help and counseling concerning my situation (and it was helpful) I didn't think I wanted to continue with it. But I went ahead and started the sessions with Dr. Wininger. I now realize that was the very best thing that could have happened to me. Without getting into detail I would just say that… Dr. Wininger had/has a way of talking with you and getting you to open up about any problem areas you've experienced, or might be experiencing. Then she is able to offer help and suggestions how to best deal with any of those situations. She is very good at doing this. I know one area that has helped me a lot is when she gave me advice on using certain breathing techniques when I am experiencing severe stress/anxiety. These really help a lot. And there are many other helpful suggestions/comments that she has shared with me, and continues to share during our sessions. I appreciate the help Dr. Wininger has already given me and I look forward to continuing our meetings/sessions!!
