Diego J. Aviles

Diego J. Avilés, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained obstetrics, gynecology, and gynecologic oncology specialist. He believes in the importance of comprehensive women’s health care and delivering exemplary obstetric and gynecologic care. In addition, he values providing support and education to help women understand and manage the changes that occur during their childbearing years.
Avilés’ clinical interests include the relationship between human papillomavirus and cervical cancer and exploring dietary intervention in patients with ovarian cancer.
Avilés earned his medical degree in 2016 from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 2020 at Pennsylvania Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. In 2023, he completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
He’s an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences with …McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Outside of work, Avilés enjoys spending time with his family, Latin dancing, playing music, reading, and exercising.
