Understaffed, poor on returning calls even when urgent does not explain or communicate well very dismissive. Horrible experience twice now.

He performed 2 endoscopes on me years ago. He was late both times. After an hour wait the anesthesiologist put me to sleep. I woke up during the procedure with the nurse at my side shoving the scope down my throat. I did not see Dr. Desai. I was trying to ask for more anesthetic the nurse said to me "you have the worst gag reflex I've ever seen in my life, your not getting anymore anesthetic ". I had this done at McClaren in Flint and will never go back to that hospital or Dr. Desai EVER AGAIN! I've never forgotten it and it's left emotional scars on me ever since when it comes to choosing a doctor for any invasive procedure.

Have been going to Dr. Desai for a few years now. He stretches my esophagus. He and everyone there are very nice, pleasant and concerned.

Dr. Desai is a thorough, patient, caring doctor. I have had Crohn's disease for 20 years and have seen my share of GIs in state, and out. He is hands down the best, by a long shot. He spends time listening and genuinely cares about his patience well being, and does it with a smile.

Contributed to my mom's death. Didn't admit to his mistake. See at your own risk.

Very courteous and provides suberb care for patients with GI complaints. He is quick and follows up appropriate. He is more skilled and well trained then any other GI physician in the Flint area and has a superior outpatient endoscopy and colonoscopy center in Flint. Highly recommended.
