Dimitrios Bliagos, MD

I had an emergency stent put in by Dr. Bliagos. I have since had a second one put in down at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Dr. Bliagos did a better job. First I researched in statistics and he has done angioplasties thousands of times with great results. Second, when I met with him before my surgery, he spent as much time as I needed which was approaching a half an hour. Third, when I was in the operation I never felt any discomfort (which I did several times down at Weill) and he showed me EXACTLY what he did and was going to do. Dr. Bliagos is competent, effective and has a great bed side manner. I thought I had to go into the City to get world class care, but if I ever need another stent, and I have the luxury to choose, I would go back to Dr. Bliagos rather than those big city doctors even though they have a better reputation. Also, in the NYC hospitals there is a very good chance you are not getting the doctor you think you are, but instead a resident or Fellow (who is… very good), but because they are teaching hospitals, you are not always getting exactly what your think you are.

He is an awesome physician. Compassionate, caring, kind, gentle, takes time to explain procedure, knowledgeable, professional.
