Dr. Dina Villarreal Hunter, MD

Dr Hunter is focused, thorough and very professional...have had multiple surgeries with her and will continue to be her patient although I live out of town...she's at the top of many Dermatologists I've been to in 40 years...

Very professional and made feel at ease

I'm not sure how U.S. News portrays Dr. Dina Hunter's Patient Experience to be "Very Positive" if at least 36% of her reviews on this website are below great... You would think she would be trying harder if that many of her patients on here had a poor experience. She was more interested in discussing her daughter’s schooling with her assistant during my appointment than focusing on my concerns. Albeit my large mole was "not dangerous" -she removed it- and after it healed the surgical site became a terribly ugly scar and remnants of the mole still remain today. I am saddled with a ridiculous bill and I don't even know who to see to fix this issue now. I would ignore her coldness, curtness, and inadequate bedside manner if she were actually skilled- and not be wasting my time writing this review- but I feel like people should know what they are getting into if they decide to see this dermatologist.

I was nervous at first as I had skin cancer in places most people don't due to many years of nude sunbathing. She was excellent, very understanding, and set me at ease. Absolutely no judgement to my life style. Her assistants were outstanding and very understanding. To be honest, I actually like going to see her. She removed precancerous spots from my face and other places. I HIGHLY recommend her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hunter's for quite a while. She is proactive and very kind. The wait is never very long - especially when comparing it to the wait-time in other doctor' offices. Two of my children have also seen her - great experiences as well! Many thanks to Dr. Hunter & her staff!

Our family couldn’t ask for a better Doctor. Last year Dr. Hunter treated our 95 year old Dad. He had several skin cancers that needed removed. She was very patient with him and very engaging. Since I wasn’t thrilled with my skin doctor, I decided to give her a go. I have many issues, acne, moles, etc. even an eye sty. She addressed every issue. Such a pleasant crew, including Kelly. Do your part be prepared with your questions.

Dr Hunter and her nurse were not in a hurry in the exam room They listen to my concerns I highly recomend her to any one looking for s good skin doctor

First she is gruff and acts like you are there just to take up her time. This is after you had to wait long past your scheduled appointment time. I had lots of skin tags and she told me to cut them off myself although she decided to make an exception for the one on my eye lid. She probably should have been a pathologist so she did not have to interact with patients. She doesn't seem to like them. I had one more serious problem on my scalp that required surgery. For that she had an immediate referral with Jimmy Chow, MD. He did the surgery successfully.

I love Dr. Hunter. When I see her for my pre-cancerous spots on my face, she goes ahead and freezes them on the spot instead of making me make another appointment and having to come back. That's what I love most about her. My mom stopped going to her dermatologist and started going to Dr. Hunter when I told her how she operates. She loved going to Dr. Hunter as well for her pro-active approach. We would never change dermatologists unless Dr. Hunter retires!!

One of the few doctors left in the world who still goes above and beyond--we love her!
