Dr. Divya Gupta, MD

This woman has no compassion and seems to be the opporsite of knowledgable and kind. She insisted after hearing my story that I had cancer. Thank goodness there are other gyns in NY. I had been recommended to her by another gyn who was unable to diagnose my problem. This woman made me question how people like her are allowed to practice in a hospital. Ignorant and autocratic.

let me tell you , who is Dr . Divya Gupta and if you read this remember my words : this woman is so rude, so confused and same time so mute like an animal, - with stupid smile on the face . I am sure she has mental problem and hopefully she gets help soon. I think that 's why most people writes , that she has no personality .... ! if you care about your health , if you are diagnosed with cancer , please don,t make it worse - like I did . please stay away From Dr. Gupta and NY-P Weill Cornell - women's health, because they trust the monster and nobody cares about woman's health , this place has no head ,because Dr. Gupta is head with her headless team - student "doctors" !

My experience with Dr. Gupta parallels that reported by Great Experience. I found her to be warm, caring, and comforting when I presented with a truly life-threatening problem: gyn malignancy. She quickly scheduled me for surgery I desperately needed and explained everything I needed to know, from filling out hospital in-patient papers to what procedures I could expect to undergo. She has absolutely been a very positive force in my treatment and recovery so I regret to see negative reports here about her "arrogance". Perhaps she ruffled some support staff feathers during her long hours on duty or colleagues resent her as an intrusion into traditionally male-dominated territory. If so, shame on them for posting abusive attacks here!

I found Dr. Gupta to be a distant, cold and arrogant doctor. She does not like to explain things and does not like to be questioned about options, recovery or details of surgery. In addition, she is condescending and can become very agitated if you do not immediately agree with or "obey" her decision for your treatment. She shows little respect for her patients. I would not recommend her at all.

Doesn't like to spend time answering your questions. Takes off too fast. Refers you out to other doctors. She will do your surgery but the aftermath is not her responsibility. So it all seemed. I would not do it again. I don't recommend this doctor if you are one who likes interaction with your MD...

I had the complete opposite experience of the review below...I was recommended to Dr. Gupta after I was told by my gyno that my Pap had shown severe dysplasia in my cervical canal. I was extremely worried because I was moving to the West Coast in 3 weeks, and my insurance would expire at that time. She recommended me to Dr. Gupta, and I was very worried that she wouldn't be able to see me in time because I heard that she is very busy. To my surprise, I was able to get an appt. with her in less than a week when I called. When I came in for the appt., I had to wait a little while to see her, but that did not surprise me because I knew how busy she was. When I came into her office, she explained everything that was involved in removing the precancerous cells, and she even did an exam that day because I told her that I was moving soon, so she wanted to expedite the process to make sure everything was done in time. I was able to schedule my surgery for the next week. On the day of… the surgery, everything went great--the only issue is that I went into surgery about 3 hours after my scheduled appt., because first the room in which I was supposed to be operated on had a more involved surgery taking place, and then Dr. Gupta got called away for an emergency C-section. In my opinion, these are all legitimate reasons for the delay. The surgery itself went flawlessly. I have a follow-up appt. with her next week, which was also easily scheduled. All in all, I had a great experience with Dr. Gupta and her staff, found her to be pleasant to deal with and answered all of my questions. I have heard that she can be unpleasant to deal with as a doctor, but I did not experience any of that, and am very grateful that I was recommended to her!
