Dr. Dolford Franklin Payne JR., MD

Dr Payne was my colo-rectal surgeon in 2012. I really liked his no nonsense approach, the office visit was really quick. We had a discussion and his private office first or we talked about my issues and then I went to the examining room and within five minutes he told me what I needed to solve the problem. We scheduled surgery for two weeks later. This kind of surgery is never easy and I did have breakthrough pain for several days after the surgery but Dr. Payne gave me a pornstar butthole again. I'm very happy with the results and with Dr. Payne and his staff. I'm very sorry that he retired!

Rude doctor very unprofessional. During initial consult he said I needed a colectomy with a colostomy. Then said he was kidding. He performed a colonoscopy and he hurt me., I told him the sedation wasn't working & said " quiet you won't remember any of this". Ive had 6 colonoscopies previous this one and I never even remembered them. Ive had adenous polyps that were pre cancerous in the past and have to get checked every couple of years. I was reffered to Dr. Payne when my surgeon retired. On follow up I told him the colonoscopy was very painful. His response "oh well its not suppose to feel good". I made a complaint to the state medical board but there was no adverse complications and they said they cant regulate drs being rude. I will never go back. His. Office manager called my wife after we filled the complaint it was a very heated conversation, she went on a rant. It was very unprofessional and kind of intimidating. Ive never had an expierience with a doctor or staff that was so… negative. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone.

I have never been to a more arrogant and unconcerned physician in my life. It is a shame to have to pay for this visit.

I had to get an anal abscess removed and he healed me perfectly. Also he has done surgery where I was bleeding inside my colon and he healed me again. I don't know where my life would be if it were not for this man.

This was my 1st time to visit for the 50 yr colonoscopy. He and staff made me feel comfortable as I was Not looking forward to it! time to go again, still don't want to but will go to him.

My midwife referred me to Dr. Payne after I had a very severe hemorrhoid during my pregnancy. Dr. Payne was able to see me right away, which was fantastic because I was really suffering. Expecting the worst (surgery, lancing), he was able to adjust & band my hemorrhoid, allowing me to avoid surgery. I can't say enough about how much he's helped me. His office staff is great as well. He has a dry attitude which I appreciate, & even if I didn't I would still recommend him based on his expertise alone.

I am in my 30's and was in excellent health prior to seeing this so-called surgeon for a minor issue with hemmorhoids. He recommended a procedure and said I would have minimal pain and be back to work in 2 days. 10 days after surgery he ignored my pleas for help and I nearly bled to death on my bathroom floor. Had 2 more surgeries and over a month in the hospital requiring multiple blood transfusions. I now have a permanent colostomy because he destroyed my rectum. DO NOT let this man touch you or a loved one. My only hope now is to save others from the pain and torment that I experienced. And to this day this man is unapologetic. I have to live this way the rest of my life while he arrogantly continues to practice.

Have had 6 procedures over 15 years..has always done the job right...a no nonsense get the job done right kind of Dr.

This is the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life . "It's a wonder he is still in practice". Poor bedside manner. My favorite quote from him is the following. "I don't make money on office visits, I make them doing surgery" !! All he cares about is money, money, money !! Pure medical greed at work !! Do not recommend !

Dr. Payne came recommened. He did not listen to my history to understand what previous problems I had. Very poor bedside manner. Blew off everything I had to say. Had post surgery complcations that he did not want to do anything about. After going to ER, the ER physician solved the problem easily.
