Dr. Donald Maurice Davis, MD

Dr. Davis is the rare dr who is not afraid of a difficult challenge. His skill backs it up. His bedside manner is better than most and he shows he truly cares. He’s taken care of my mom and repaired some very complicated issues for her with extreme expertise. His staff is also of the same mindset. He’s good to nurses too. (Some Drs just aren’t) So refreshing in a trauma surgical team who have ALL trained extensively in all aspects of surgical trauma. Trust this dr. He saved my mom.

Dr Donald Davis is a fantastic Dr and surgeon. He has preformed hernia surgery on my husband twice in 2 year time span. Different locations. He was personable, professional, friendly and remembered us. Super informative and just the nicest guy. His staff is great and get things done right away. We never had an issue. He came right out after both surgeries to let me know how it went. He's a fantastic Dr and I would recommend him highly to everyone.

2:45pm appointment with #DrDavis. Arrived in the office at 2:40pm. The place is situated like a bank with ropes for a line and 5 people to check you in. I paid and got a receipt at 2:49pm, pictured. Waited almost 30 minutes until called back. Weight and blood pressure checked. Sat in a room waiting for #DrDonaldDavis for 40 more minutes. Nobody apologized or mentioned the wait would be a longer. I left at 4pm. Worse than paying/being ripped off $50 for nothing, not a phone call from anyone checking on me. From beginning to end 2 hours of my day wasted. I would never ever recommend #USFHEALTHSOUTHTAMPA. Understand you'll need to arrive approximately 20 minutes early to find parking in the garage or you'll have to valet. Both are poor choices.

My brother had major surgery at TGH that did not go well. Dr. Davis stepped in after the failed surgery and made a repair to an intestinal fissure. 3 days later Dr Davis went back in to make sure all was well with the surgery he had performed. My brother was on a ventilator through both surgeries and I was to make decisions for him during this time. On the 3rd day he went in and saw that my brothers colon was infected with C Diff. He removed my brothers colon and performed and iliostomy without approval. My brother would not have wanted that surgery. He was very very ill and would not have been able to recover. My brother spent 31 days in ICU and died Feb 14 2018. The days he spent after the final surgery done by Dr. Davis were excruciating and humiliating to my brother. His stay cost 1.2 million dollars. Dr. Davis should have gotten consent before he removed my brothers colon. Also after the surgery was performed days and days went by that he never came to check in on my brother. I… do not recommend Dr. Davis. He is not an honest man.

Recommendation for this surgeon are high. Professional,talented and a great communicator. Entire staff is execellant.

Doctor Davis did my intestinal surgery and three months later did hernia surgery. He really took the time to talk to me and address all of my concerns. I recommend him to everyone. He truly loves what he does. He treated me like I was part of his family.
