Dr. Donald Howard Fisher, MD

NEVER TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE. The staff - Dr. Fisher, Jodi, and Carolynn - terribly rude, do not have the best interest of your children (or you for that matter). We brought our child in twice in one week and was misdiagnosed both times that resulted in an ER visit, ambulance transport, and overnight hospital admission. Dr. Fisher forgot to discharge us from the hospital on a separate occasion and after the birth of our second child that resulted in us having to stay an extra five hours. Not only that, they have missed our child's vaccinations resulting in us having to go back. Dr. Fisher should definitely not be practicing and should find a friendly office staff. Please, do not take your kids here.

I agree with comments from an ealier client. I've had a couple of appointments with Dr. Fisher (not by choice), and he does not do well with smaller kids; nor has the time to answers questions. Our appointments seems to last for less than 5 minutes, and he always seem to be in a rush. To get answers from him is painstaking, and seems impatient when ask more. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, but if you're in the business of pediatrics at least show you have interest in children and care! If you need to see a pediatrician from this practice, I highly recommend seeing the other peds instead; esp Dr. Davis - wonderful doctor and takes the time to explain and answer all your questions and concerns.

After over 11 years of being patients with the practice (almost since the doors opening and when Dr. Fischer was the only physician) my family was kicked out due to an unpaid balance of $76.00. Dr. Fischer according to their Office Manager is the person that solely makes these decisions. They have a system, if they send you six notices and you do not pay (no matter what the reason) you are terminated from their practice. I did not even receive one phone call informing me of this. I just received a letter of termination. I decided to ask to be reinstated with the practice because I do love Dr. Davis and it is sad that I lose him as a pediatrician. The Office Manager discussed the reinstatement with Dr. Fischer (owner), he determined that I was not fit for his practice because a couple of years ago I also had a late payment. This man is so money driven. When I interviewed HIM to become my pediatrician after the birth of my twin sons, he told me that he wanted to keep his practice small,… ensure satisfaction of his patients and get to know his patients individually. He has just left a larger practice and claimed to not like how impersonal it was. Well, it does not seem like this is the case, as matter of fact it actually seems like Dr. Fischer is just in it for the money. I again would like to say that Dr. Davis is a wonderful doctor and the best at the practice in my opinion. Dr. Fischer's bedside manner could use some work to say the least and at time I felt uncomfortable and awkward around him. I do have to mention that on more than one occasion, the nurses and medical techs were rude as well. I overlooked this based on the quality of care of Dr. Davis and that this is the only practice I have ever been to with my children. If you choose Willow Oak Pediatricâ?¦at least now you know the rules. Should you fall on hard times, you get six chances and then you are kicked outâ?¦wowâ?¦I do want to add that for many years it was suitable to pay your balance or makes payments on your account for years and that is what I normally did, I had intention to pay Dr. Fischer and in no way was trying to get out of the $76.00!

Was very disappointed with my last 2 visits with Willow Oak Pediatrics libertyville recently. I was early for my appointment and I received no attention from the from desk staff. When I was seen she provided very negative customer service. After waiting 25 minutes after I was suppose to be called for my appointment I asked if it would be much longer and all I got was a rude, " Its always like this." after 10 more minutes of waiting I could overhear her talking about me and my child in a negative manner. If I wanted my kids to hear the F-word bomb I would take them to a rated R movie not the pediatricians office. Magali was very unprofessional, and it leads me to question the entire practice. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS PED'S OFFICE!!!!!

first off, don't be late... or you'll end up waiting an hour. We love Dr. Fisher. He was assigned to my child the day he was born. We liked Dr. Fisher so much that we decided to keep him as our pediatrician even after moving almost an hour away.

For the most part he is a good doctor and knows what he is doing, but he is very impatiant (expecially with young squirmy children)comes in does what he needs to do and is out within 1-2 minutes, and never wants to stick around to answer your questions. And if you question his diagnosis he get very defensive and upset.
