Dr. Donald Arthur Golen

This doctor will have no time for you and forget bedside manner. I had a follow up visit that had west Nile issues. My condition wasn’t explained nor my diagnosis. I spent more time in the waiting room that I did in his office. I felt like he was just trying to set the next appointment and push me out the door. When I tried to reach out through the portal to get answers to questions that were not answered during my visit, it took almost a week for a response. Unforgivable. I urge you to pick a different doctor.

Overall I liked Dr. Golen, even though the office was disorganized. The kicker is when he left Prescott AZ, he didn't provide a way to transfer medical records. Now I'm chasing him down so I won't have to have same test done. His current office tells me they don't have and can't get records from previous office. If you see him in Fort Collins, obtain records from him in case he leaves there.

I have only been seeing Dr. Golen for less then a year but his diagnosis was 'right-on'! Thank you Dr. For helping diagnose the problem.

I found Dr. Golan to be an excellent neurologist. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Dr. Golan.

This doctor saved my life, I went into a massive seizure and he was the one who knew exactly what medications to put me on. I also have headaches and Multiple Sclerosis. He's great!

I saw him maybe 5 yrs. His first question was always how many seizures since seeing him last time. I wasn't there for seizures, never had any. I told him I was falling asleep just blinking due to medication. He put me on another. He was furious when I told him I didn't like the new med and it was beyond expensive. He was angry also cuz I was seeing him for pain/nerve reasons. He told me I needed to see a psychiatrist as I had issues. I have all disc in my neck herniated, bone spurs growing into it, pinched nerves and arthritis wrapped around the mess. Massive pain! I also have other problem areas with nerve damage. I have since found out that he tells many they need to see a psychiatrist if they have any problem with him. He always spent time with me when seeing him, asking many questions so why did he never know I wasn't there for seizures. If u were more than 5 minutes late he would not see you that day but it was very common to wait 30 minutes or longer.Don't think I ever waited… under 20 minutes to b seen. He seldom smiles or looks happy

I told the doctor that the medicine he prescribed was causing side effects he apparently either didn't hear me or chose to ignore me.
