Horrible doctor. Did partial hip replacement. It fell apart withing 4-5 months. Had to have revision total hip replacement. Another doctor. Another hospital. HSS, New York City. New doctor cleaned out "the mess" and did very successful surgery.

Partial hip replacement - was poorly done by this doctor. It FELL APART in 4-5 months. Had to have revision total hip replacement to correct.

Dr. Hangen and his team made my experience tolerable. I had no idea what to expect from this total hip replacement and they set all my fears to rest. I grilled them with questions on top of questions and each one was answered with care. 2+ weeks post-op and I'm feeling great. PT is pleased with the progress as was the Team at the post-op visit. Dr. Hangen never left me.... pre-op, post-op in recovery and in my room ( overnight) before I left. He checked on me. I find that UMASS Team are mostly caring and professional. Thank you.

Dr. Hangen and his entire team run like a finely tuned machine. From the pre op class to sugery day admissions right through to the recovery room and same day discharge every base was covered and ALL questions were answered. I was able to have post op online communication with the team and their input and my responses. Again All questions were answered fast and with great information, which instills a confident recovery. It is less than 3 weeks post surgery, I am in PT and on my way to feeling whole again. I couldn't feel any better about my recovery and progress. THE WORST!!! With no discussion, no meeting, walked into operating room, stuck on mask and off he went doing a partial hip replacement. Should have lasted 8-10 years. Didn't last 8 months. After suffering extreme pain for weeks, it required revision total hip replacement. If you see this guy, run!!

This is the second hip I’ve had replaced… Dr. Hangen has been nothing short of fantastic… He and his staff have made these experiences as easy as can be… Highly recommend him.

Dr Hangen is a great Dr. He tells you how it is and does it in a bedside manner that is all him. I've had two hips done by him and I would go back. His staff is top notch, and u mass is a great place to be. If you have to be down. I would highly recommend him and his staff to have your hips replaced.

Dr. Hangen, Was terrific, he explained every step in lay- mans terms so my husband and I could understand. Outstanding staff, every one went above and beyond.
