Dr. Donald Paul Hetzel, MD

I have been a patient for years. I had a UC diagnosis and thanks to Dr. Hetzel, I am now ulcer free! I dread the day he decides to retire!

Donald Hetzel is rude and patronizing and I am not going back.

I recently had a procedure performed by Dr. Hetzel. The staff at the Chattanooga Endoscopy were very professional and courteous. Dr. Hetzel's pre op nurse was very kind, informative and may me feel relaxed and comfortable before the procedure. The anesthesiologist was very professional and likeable at the same time which is something she should be proud of. The post op nurse was exceptional in her duties and the care of her patient. Dr Hetzel after meeting with him pre op, was very friendly and professional. He immediately relieved me of anxiety and any fear I had been fretting with concerning my procedure. I give the Center, Dr. Hetzel and his staff a most deserve "10" . Thank you. Danny P

Dr. Hetzel performed a colonoscopy on me about 20 years ago. I was so sick and frightened of the test but he explained everything. I thing he is an exceptional physician!!!

Great Doctor, and very caring towards his patients.

Never again will I enter his office. I was in there for over 3 hours. NO way is anyone worth my time.

I despatetly need an appointment, a second appointment..Dr Craig tried to get a near date for me but they would only let be see Yates. Not going there again. You helped me years ago. Appreciate your working me in as soon as you can. Two insurances. HELP

This has been a nightmare for our family. My mother was not diagnosed correctly and has been sick for days following her procedure. The wrong medication was given to her and we ended up in the emergency room. He spent 2 minutes with our family, and this is an accurate amount. I noted the time entered and departed. Will never again enter his office, the prior reviews are accurate.

Intelligent Dr with no bedside humor, rude & disrespectful as well as discourages patients to educate themselves. Twice made an inaccurate diagnosis, was told he was the best around - NOT...

I would never see this physician again. I am angry that I did not trust my intuition, when I agreed to have diagnostic procedures. To begin with he put me down, telling me not to read so much. He has no idea of my background, as a retired Professor of Nursing, Assoc Prof of Medicine at a well know Health Science Center, FNP, or my national awards and experience.He took a cursory health history of former testing, results or symptoms. There was no explanation of results. Only two check marks were sent. He does not know that intestinal tract enteropathy can heal when one avoids gluten. He does not know the difference between Celiac and Gluten Sensitivity. No follow-up appointment was made, just an admonition to return for more testing in three years. Am I insane? I must have been to allow this unscrupulous, incompetent physician to make more money.
