Dr. Donald Melvin Jacobson

My sister has been seeing Dr Jacobson for 6 years and over the past 2 years her mental health has deteriorated and it is clear and has been told by professionals she has a mental disorder. 7 members of my family have written letters to the doctor expressing concern over her actions and behavior he ignores this and continues to write her out a prescription for Adderall even after telling him that she abuses it. Our letters were ignored by his office until I had to leave multiple voicemails. I tried to take her to froedhert to get some help and when the nurse asked her about her delusions and if she told her Dr. she responded with He told me to use them to my benefit, like predicting the weather. If you actually want a doctor that cares for your well being, he clearly is not it.

Rather than call to see why an appointment was missed and if everything was ok, just dropped me as a patient and "chose not to return my call."

Staff is awesome. Right there when needed. Dr. J. is awesome also...knows his chemistry how meds interact with each other and patient. Takes time to listen to whatever patient has to say. Even if time runs over, that's how you get to waiting extra in the waiting room, but understandable cause he takes time with you if you need it. 26 yrs. of practice says a lot. Dr. is so very knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. J. and staff so very much, you have saved my life.

Dr. Jacobson immediately adjusted my meds upon my first appointment with him 20 years ago. That day he took me off Prozac, as it made me emotionally unstable and caused suicidal ideation. He really knows his stuff. He is caring and answers my questions. His staff is par excellence.

This is a doctor who really cares about his patients. He is not afraid of going over the time frame of a session, which makes a waiting time longer; but it is no concern due to the fact that he does sit down and talk with you. He will call you back. In emergency, you will be fit in that day.
